Mainenance Tech/Houseman Cottages

We are seeking a proactive and versatile Houseman and Maintenance Technician to join our dynamic team. In this role, you will be responsible for maintaining the cleanliness, safety, and functionality of our residential facilities. Duties

• Perform general housekeeping duties, including cleaning common areas and assisting with residential painting projects to uphold high standards of cleanliness and appearance
• Conduct routine maintenance and repairs on plumbing, electrical systems, HVAC units, and other building infrastructure using schematics and technical manuals
• Operate programmable logic controllers (PLCs) and ohmmeters to troubleshoot and repair electrical systems effectively
• Weld metal components as needed for structural repairs or custom projects, ensuring safety and quality standards are met
• Utilize CMMS (Computerized Maintenance Management System) software to track work orders, maintenance schedules, and inventory levels
• Supervise or assist with facilities maintenance projects, ensuring timely completion with attention to detail
• Inspect facilities regularly using schematics and mechanical knowledge to identify potential issues before they escalate
• Lead small teams or coordinate with contractors during major repairs or renovations, demonstrating leadership and supervising experience

Skills

• Strong mechanical knowledge combined with electrical experience for troubleshooting diverse systems
• Familiarity with schematics, technical manuals, and PLC programming for effective repairs
• Proficiency in welding techniques and residential painting to support various maintenance tasks
• Ability to read and interpret schematics and technical diagrams accurately
• Experience with facilities maintenance, including plumbing, electrical work, HVAC systems, and general repairs
• Competence in using tools such as ohmmeters and other diagnostic equipment for electrical troubleshooting
• Excellent customer service skills to communicate effectively with residents and team members in English
• Supervising experience in maintenance or facilities management roles demonstrating leadership qualities
• Knowledge of manufacturing processes or industrial maintenance is a plus but not required
