SUMMARY OF POSITION:


The Facilities Maintenance II - 3 team member works as a part of a team performing multiple duties of advanced maintenance of equipment, facilities, and grounds. Assigned team and tasks will vary based on business necessity.

· High school diploma or equivalency


· Pass pre-employment tests


· Work in a team environment with the ability to communicate in a concise, polite and respectful manner


 


ENVIRONMENT:


· Noise level requires hearing protection in designated areas


· Seasonal high/low temperatures and humidity


· Outside conditions


· Clothing spoilage


· Frequent handling of power tools


· Work near moving mechanical parts


· Work at various heights


· Travel by various modes of transportation


· Hazardous materials


 


ESSENTIAL RESPONSIBILITIES:


· Comply with safety, quality, environmental and productivity requirements and procedures


· Regular/dependable attendance required


· Flexibility of work hours including overtime/shift variation.


· Facilities maintenance generally includes roofs, doors, floors, restrooms, air leaks, replacing light bulbs and ballasts, repairing and replacing fans, and maintaining interior and exterior buildings, fire sprinkler systems, machinery and equipment


· Perform preventative maintenance requirements per an established schedule


· Use of hand tools and machinery is required to maintain equipment, buildings, building control systems and grounds care


· Sawdust system operations and maintenance


· Back-up generator operation


· Maintenance and troubleshooting of building electrical systems


· Maintenance of building plumbing systems


· Proficient back-up knife grinding skills


· Maintenance and M.F. Stockroom responsibilities


· Equipment painting / maintenance paint booth


· Maintenance and troubleshooting of building control systems


· Must maintain a Class A electrical license


· Maintain a PIV license


· During inclement weather clearing of walkways, doorways, fire equipment riser valves and fire hydrants


· Housekeeping and preventative maintenance of the parking ares, shipping and receiving docks and all sidewalks, outside lunch areas, and snow removal. Maintain company vehicles


· Building maintenance and supporting equipment. Maintain restroom equipment to assure proper operation. Operation and maintenance of heating, cooling and make-up aire equipment


· Knowledge of boiler operation and maintenance.


· Operation, care and maintenance of power floor sweeper, scrubber, high speed polisher, vacuums and carpet cleaning equipement


· Painting of designated areas of the building


· Maintenance of all lighting in the facility and parking areas and ventilation equipment


· Must be able to work at ceiling heights and sawdust system heights


· Training and dealing with various service people and vendors


 


ADDITIONAL RESPONSIBILITIES:


· Ability to rotate to other positions as needed


· Plan and schedule projects. This will include training and supervision of people assisting in the carrying out of these projects


· Maintain good housekeeping


· Learn and perform multiple job tasks. Rotate to any job within the Facilities Maintenance classification.


· Other duties may be assigned


 


EDUCATION & EXPERIENCE:


· Maintenance related experience is preferred


· Job related experience is preferred


 


SKILLS AND TALENTS:


· Able to work with minimal supervision


· Decision making


· Troubleshooting


· Above average mechanical skills


· Communication skills


· Plumbing experience


· Basic industrial electrical skills


 


 


 


 


MAINTENANCE TRAINING:


· Basic Motor Control


· Advanced Motor Control


· Class A Electrician License


· Welding


· Licensed to operate forklift, manlift, sweeper, maintenance transport cart and skid loader


 


APPLICABLE CLASSES:


· Measurement Technology


· Industrial Math


 


PHYSICAL REQUIREMENTS:


· Lift up to 100 lbs. at waist level and up to 70 lbs. at shoulder level up to an occasional basis when moving products


· Push or pull with up to 100 lbs. of force up to an occasional basis when moving products


· Generate up to 90 lbs. of grip strength up to an occasional basis with each hand while handling products


· Generate up to 15 lbs. of pinch strength up to an occasional basis with each hand while handling products


· Display average coordination with both hands up to a continuous basis while performing job tasks


· Perform elevated work up to an occasional basis when handling products


· Stoop, kneel or squat up to an occasional basis when handling products


· Reach forward and to the side up to a frequent basis when handling products
