Maint Mechanic I-Facilities Mgmt

Beginning with a working knowledge of and experience in commercial maintenance, assumes progressively more responsibility (basic and semi-skilled work) for the maintenance, repair, and alteration of buildings, mechanical equipment, and electrical systems throughout the Medical Center. Complies with all appropriate safety and infection control standards. Participates in quality assessment and continuous quality improvement activities. Performs all job duties and responsibilities in a courteous and customer-focused manner according to the Hurley Family Standards of Behavior.Works under the direction of a supervisor or higher skilled worker who assigns work and checks for completion and compliance with established standards.

1. Performs work in installation, maintenance, and repair of variety of plumbing systems and components.




2. Performs work in maintenance, repair, and installation of variety of heating, ventilating, and cooling systems and components.




3. Performs work in maintenance, repair, and installation of variety of building systems including but not limited to floors, doors, walls, partitions, cabinets, windows, screens and associated components.




4. Performs work in maintenance, repair, and installation of variety of electrical systems and components.




5. Assists trades as needed, and performs minor trade-related tasks during maintenance duties such as touch-up painting, etc.




6. Assists in demolition, removal of debris, and clean-up of project areas.




7. Performs variety of basic and repetitive tasks requiring manual labor such as sweeping and cleaning and lifting/loading trucks. Participates in removing snow and ice from sidewalks and parking lots during inclement weather. Participates in mowing and trimming of grounds and assists with other related tasks as needed.




8. Documents all work performed using computerized and/or paper-based information systems.




9. Performs other related duties as required. Utilizes new improvements and/or technology that relate to job assignment.
