Maintenance and Reliability Manager

We are seeking an experienced Maintenance & Reliability Leader to provide strategic and operational leadership for maintenance, reliability, and asset management activities across two closely located manufacturing and research & development facilities.

This role will be responsible for developing and executing maintenance and reliability strategies that maximize equipment uptime, improve asset performance, reduce operating costs, and support safe, efficient operations. The successful candidate will lead maintenance teams, drive continuous improvement initiatives, and partner closely with Operations, Engineering, and R&D leadership to ensure the facilities meet current and future business objectives.

The ideal candidate is a strong technical leader with extensive experience in manufacturing environments, a proven track record of reliability improvement, and the ability to build a culture focused on safety, accountability, and operational excellence.

Key Responsibilities

• Lead all maintenance and reliability activities across two manufacturing and R&D facilities.
  


• Develop and execute strategic maintenance and asset management plans to improve equipment reliability and operational performance.
  


• Drive reliability-centered maintenance (RCM), preventive maintenance (PM), predictive maintenance (PdM), and condition-based maintenance programs.
  


• Establish and monitor key performance indicators including equipment uptime, MTBF, MTTR, maintenance costs, and overall asset effectiveness.
  


• Lead root cause failure analyses (RCFA) and implement sustainable corrective actions to eliminate recurring equipment issues.
  


• Manage maintenance budgets, capital improvement projects, contractor services, and spare parts inventories.
  


• Partner with Operations, Engineering, Quality, and R&D teams to support production objectives, product development initiatives, and facility improvements.
  


• Develop long-range asset replacement and capital planning strategies.
  


• Ensure compliance with all safety, environmental, and regulatory requirements.
  


• Promote a culture of continuous improvement, reliability excellence, and proactive maintenance practices.
  


• Recruit, develop, mentor, and lead maintenance and reliability personnel while building organizational capability.
  


• Support plant expansions, equipment installations, and commissioning activities.
  

Qualifications

Required

• Bachelor’s Degree in Engineering (Mechanical, Electrical, Chemical, Industrial, or related discipline).
  


• Minimum of 10 years of progressive maintenance, reliability, or engineering experience within a manufacturing environment.
  


• Demonstrated leadership experience managing maintenance and reliability teams.
  


• Strong knowledge of preventive, predictive, and reliability-centered maintenance methodologies.
  


• Experience leading root cause analysis and continuous improvement initiatives.
  


• Strong understanding of manufacturing equipment, utilities, facility systems, and asset management principles.
  


• Experience utilizing CMMS platforms and maintenance performance metrics.
  


• Excellent communication, leadership, and project management skills.
  

Preferred

• Experience supporting both manufacturing and R&D operations.
  


• Certified Reliability Engineer (CRE), Certified Maintenance & Reliability Professional (CMRP), or similar certification.
  


• Experience managing multiple facilities or sites.
  


• Knowledge of Lean Manufacturing, Six Sigma, or Operational Excellence methodologies.
  


• Capital project management experience.
