MAINTENANCE ASSISTANT – Full-Time – Generations at Rock Island

Generations at Rock Island is seeking an experienced Maintenance Assistant to join our team at its facility in Rock Island, Illinois. The position available is Full-Time (Non-Exempt) with an 8-hour shift (8 a.m. - 4:30 p.m.) Monday - Friday. Periodic On-Call if Maintenance Director unavailable.

If you are handy, have experience with fixing basic maintenance issues, can paint and enjoy working to help keep a senior facility clean and well-running, then this is the job for you.

Responsibilities of the Maintenance Aide:

• Troubleshoot any and all kinds of emergencies or urgent repairs and report them to Management
• Assure the proper maintenance and running condition of electricity, plumbing and all equipment
• Perform minor repairs and do routine maintenance
• Painting as necessary
• Monitor functionality of safety systems (e.g., fire alarm)
• Adhere to quality standards and health and safety regulations
• Cleaning activities such as dusting, mopping, etc.
• Garden/yard upkeep such as mowing lawn, collecting trash, etc.

Requirements

of the Maintenance Assistant:

• Previous experience in maintenance and general labor strongly preferred
• Previous experience with plumbing, painting, drywall, minor electrical work and general labor-maintenance preferred
• Previous experience in a healthcare setting is a plus
• Must be compassionate, tolerant and understanding of older adults
• Must be deemed eligible for hire by Illinois Department of Public Health based on a thorough background check, including fingerprinting
