Carlton Shores Health and Rehabilitation is currently seeking a  maintenance assistant to uphold safety standards while effectively maintaining the facility's grounds and equipment. This role plays a crucial part in creating a compassionate environment for residents by promptly addressing their needs.

Qualifications of Maintenance Assistant:

• HS diploma or GED
• 6 months of maintenance experience 
• Sound knowledge of basic plumbing, carpentry, and electrical wiring.
• The ability to safely operate hand and power tools as well as cleaning equipment.
• The ability to lift heavy objects.

Responsibilities of Maintenance Assistant:

• Must be proficient in performing technical skills required of a maintenance assistant.
• Must be energetic, professional, and reliable.
• Must possess the ability to make independent decisions, to follow instructions, and to accept constructive criticism.
• Receive and follow maintenance schedule or instructions from your supervisor and as outlined in our established maintenance policies and procedures.
• Perform routine maintenance on grounds, parking areas, driveways, etc., by cutting, trimming, policing, sweeping, etc., as directed.
• Perform routine maintenance and repair on the Facility and equipment to include plumbing, plastering, electrical, carpentry, mechanical, etc., as directed, in accordance with established procedures.
• Clean windows and screens, as directed.
• Replace burned out light bulbs, to include, exit lights, overhead lights, fluorescent lights, room call lights, etc., and perform cleaning duties, wherever necessary.
• Service heating and cooling units and systems, as specified by the manufacturer, and in compliance with established policies and procedures.
• Perform unscheduled maintenance tasks as directed.
• Turn in all found articles to your supervisor.
