Maintenance Assistant

Cura Health, located at 109 Court Ave South, Sandstone MN 55072 is seeking a dedicated and reliable Maintenance assistant. This full-time position combines responsibilities for safely transporting residents to various locations, such as hospitals and nursing homes, and managing maintenance tasks at our apartments, Skilled Nursing Facility and Assisted Living Facility. The ideal candidate will have a passion for resident safety, and the ability to perform general maintenance duties with a focus on excellent customer service. 

Job Details

• Job Type: Full-time (40 hours per week)
• Work Schedule: Flexible 40-hour workweek, including day, evening, morning, and night shifts as needed for resident appointments and outings.

Responsibilities

Duties

• Safely operate vehicles, including larger buses and wheelchair-accessible vans, to transport residents to hospitals, nursing homes, and other destinations across the state.
• Provide exceptional customer service by assisting residents during transport and while completing maintenance suties, including helping with mobility needs or handling equipment.
• Adhere to all traffic laws and safety regulations to ensure resident and road safety.
• Perform regular vehicle inspections to maintain cleanliness and functionality, reporting any issues to the Regional Director of Operations (RDO).
• Clock in and out for breaks, even during transport duties, as per company policy.

Qualifications

• Valid Driver’s License with a clean driving record (required).
• Experience as a van driver or shuttle driver is preferred.
• Strong customer service and communication skills to interact effectively with residents and staff.
• Ability to perform light physical tasks, including heavy lifting when assisting residents or handling equipment.
• Willingness to perform maintenance tasks and learn on the job.
• Commitment to fulfilling responsibilities as a Vulnerable Adult Mandated Reporter, including completing required training and reporting any suspected maltreatment, neglect, or abuse.
• Reliable, punctual, and able to manage time effectively to meet maintenance schedules.

Additional Information

• Employees must clock in and out for breaks, including during transport duties.
• Holiday work is compensated at time-and-a-half pay.
• On-the-job training will be provided for transportation, maintenance, and mandated reporter responsibilities.
