Position Summary


Ataero is seeking a Maintenance Control Technician to provide onsite maintenance management and logistics support for the Intrepid Tiger II (IT-II) Electronic Warfare Program at Naval Air Station Point Mugu, California.


The selected candidate will coordinate maintenance activities supporting the Intrepid Tiger II electronic warfare system, monitor aircraft and system readiness, track maintenance actions, and serve as the primary liaison between government personnel, Field Service Representatives (FSRs), contractors, supply personnel, and maintenance organizations. This position is responsible for ensuring maintenance planning, documentation, quality assurance, and logistics support are executed efficiently to maximize system availability and mission readiness in support of Naval Aviation Electronic Warfare operations.



Primary Responsibilities



  • Coordinate daily maintenance control activities supporting the Intrepid Tiger II (IT-II) Electronic Warfare program.

  • Serve as the primary liaison between government personnel, Field Service Representatives (FSRs), maintenance personnel, logistics organizations, supply activities, and engineering teams to ensure timely resolution of maintenance issues.

  • Monitor scheduled, preventive, corrective, and unscheduled maintenance actions to maximize aircraft and mission system readiness.

  • Track maintenance status, aircraft availability, mission equipment readiness, and work order completion using applicable maintenance management systems.

  • Coordinate maintenance planning, scheduling, production control, and resource allocation to support operational requirements.

  • Ensure maintenance documentation is complete, accurate, and compliant with applicable NAVAIR, Navy, and Marine Corps maintenance policies, technical directives, and safety requirements.

  • Utilize the Marine Corps Optimized Organizational Maintenance Activity (OOMA) system to track maintenance actions, aircraft readiness, discrepancies, inspections, and maintenance documentation while ensuring compliance with NAVAIR policies and procedures.

  • Coordinate the requisition, tracking, and availability of repair parts, support equipment, and consumables required to sustain maintenance operations.

  • Monitor maintenance trends, identify recurring discrepancies, and recommend corrective actions to improve system reliability and operational readiness.

  • Coordinate with FSRs, depot activities, engineering personnel, and logistics teams to resolve maintenance issues impacting mission capability.

  • Prepare maintenance reports, readiness metrics, maintenance status updates, and briefings for program leadership and government stakeholders.

  • Support quality assurance initiatives by verifying maintenance actions are properly documented and completed in accordance with established procedures.

  • Assist with inventory accountability, serialized asset tracking, and maintenance records management for IT-II mission equipment.

  • Participate in maintenance planning meetings, readiness reviews, and program management discussions to support fleet sustainment objectives.

  • Perform other duties as assigned in support of the Intrepid Tiger II (IT-II) Program.



Minimum Qualifications



  • Associate's degree in Aviation Maintenance, Aviation Management, Logistics, or a related field, or minimum of 5 years in lieu of education.

  • Minimum five (5) years of experience in military or commercial aircraft maintenance, maintenance control, production control, or aviation logistics.

  • Minimum of three (3) years of experience utilizing the Marine Corps Optimized Organizational Maintenance Activity (OOMA) system to support aircraft maintenance management, production control, readiness reporting, and maintenance documentation.

  • Experience supporting fixed-wing and/or rotary-wing aircraft maintenance operations in an operational aviation environment.

  • Working knowledge of Navy, Marine Corps, or DoD aviation maintenance policies, technical directives, and maintenance management procedures.

  • Experience coordinating maintenance activities across maintenance personnel, supply organizations, engineering teams, and Field Service Representatives (FSRs).

  • Knowledge of aircraft avionics systems and maintenance documentation processes.

  • Experience using military maintenance management systems such as MIMMS, OOMA, NALCOMIS, or equivalent aviation maintenance information systems.

  • Proficiency with Microsoft Office Suite (Word, Excel, Outlook, and PowerPoint).

  • Excellent organizational, analytical, interpersonal, and written/verbal communication skills.

  • Ability to obtain and maintain access to government facilities and information systems.

  • Active Secret Security Clearance with the ability to obtain and maintain a Top-Secret Security Clearance.



Preferred Qualifications



  • Prior experience supporting the Intrepid Tiger II (IT-II) Electronic Warfare program or other airborne Electronic Warfare (EW), Electronic Attack (EA), or Electromagnetic Spectrum Operations (EMSO) systems.

  • Experience supporting NAVAIR, Naval Aviation Enterprise (NAE), Marine Corps aviation, or Fleet Readiness organizations.

  • Previous experience as a Maintenance Controller, Production Controller, Maintenance Control Chief, Quality Assurance Representative (QAR), or Collateral Duty Quality Assurance Representative (CDQAR).

  • Experience with Naval Aviation Maintenance Program (NAMP) COMNAVAIRFORINST 4790.2 requirements.

  • FAA Airframe & Powerplant (A&P) Certificate.

  • Experience coordinating directly with Field Service Representatives (FSRs), Original Equipment Manufacturers (OEMs), and depot-level maintenance activities.

  • Experience supporting contractor logistics support (CLS), sustainment, or lifecycle maintenance programs.



Travel Requirements


Approximately 10-15% travel in support of program requirements, meetings, testing events, or field activities.
