TCNH, a skilled nursing facility in Trenton, FL, is looking for a hands-on Maintenance Director to keep our facility safe, functional, and welcoming for the residents who call it home. You will own the physical plant end to end, from daily repairs and preventive maintenance to safety compliance and supervising the maintenance team. This is a working supervisor role, so you will be as comfortable with tools in hand as you are managing schedules and records.
If you take pride in a building that runs well and you want your work to directly improve people's quality of life, we would like to hear from you.
What You'll Do
Keep all physical aspects of the building in safe, working order, and maintain the plant within state and federal guidelines
Handle hands-on repairs across multiple trades: plumbing, lighting, fixtures, flooring, and wall and drywall repair
Supervise and support the maintenance team as a working supervisor, setting daily assignments and ensuring quality
Create and manage schedules for housekeeping and laundry personnel
Order, track, and account for maintenance, housekeeping, and laundry supplies
Stay current on work orders and complete daily assignments and accurate record keeping
Run required fire, life, and safety drills and maintain records in line with all applicable codes
Maintain proper safety practices and the care and operation of physical equipment
Transport residents to scheduled medical appointments and help coordinate that scheduling
Assist in developing department policies and procedures, and serve on committees as required
Participate in required in-service training, continuing education, and quality assurance programs
What We're Looking For
High school diploma or equivalent
Hands-on experience across the core building trades: plumbing, lighting, fixtures, flooring, and wall and drywall repair
Prior supervisory or lead experience in a facility setting
Strong organizational skills and the ability to prioritize and follow through independently
Patience, tact, and genuine comfort working around elderly residents and their families
Clear written and verbal communication with staff, residents, families, and outside professionals
Valid Florida driver's license and a clean driving record (for resident transport)
The Work Environment
You will move between an office, all interior areas of the facility, and outdoor spaces like courtyards and patios. The role is active and includes the normal hazards of maintenance work, so attention to safety is essential.
You will also interact daily with residents and families, many of whom are navigating illness, aging, or loss. The right person brings a steady, compassionate presence to those moments and represents the facility professionally at all times.
