Maintenance Helper/Custodian - Second Shift

SUMMARY

Perform duties involved in helping with the servicing and maintenance of a variety of machine tools and attachments and building maintenance. Hours are 3:30PM-3AM.

ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES include the following. Other duties may be assigned.

Assist Maintenance Tech with servicing and maintaining machine tools, hand and power tools and machine attachments.

Assist Maintenance Tech with checking compressors, repairing service piping, performing carpentry and related work involved in maintaining the building.

Oil and grease machines following prescribed schedule.

Perform custodial duties including:

• Maintain adequate supply of soap, paper hand towels, and toilet tissue in bathrooms.
• Sweep and wash floors, clean stairways, dust furniture, empty waste baskets and trash barrels, clean windows, wash walls, clean cafeteria.
• Clean restrooms

Clear snow and ice during winter months

Observe all health and safety requirements.

Perform other similar and related duties as assigned.

Requirements

1 year maintenance experience or 2 years trade school or equivalent machine maintenance experience preferred

Ability to operate hand and power tools

Carpentry skills a plus

Basic knowledge of piping and electrical repair and schematics a plus

Good interpersonal skills.

Basic knowledge of electrical repair and wiring schematics.
