This position is primarily responsible for assisting with general labor involving keeping buildings, grounds, equipment, and facilities clean, safe, and in good working conditions.
Specific duties include but are not limited to:
· Perform general maintenance and repair work.
· Clean and maintain buildings, work areas, tools, and equipment.
· Assist with plumbing, electrical, carpentry, painting, and mechanical repairs.
· Replace light bulbs, filters, fixtures, hardware, and other basic components.
· Perform routine inspections and report maintenance problems.
· Operate hand tools and basic power tools safely.
· Move, load, unload, and organize materials and equipment.
· Maintain outdoor areas, including forklifts, walkways, parking areas,
· and hazardous materials according to workplace procedures.
· Assist skilled maintenance workers with larger repair and construction projects.
· Follow workplace safety rules and use appropriate personal protective equipment.
· Respond to maintenance requests and complete assigned work orders.
· Keep records of completed maintenance and repairs when required.
· Other duties as assigned.

· The employee is required to use hearing protection and/or other personal safety equipment, including eye protection.
· The employee must be adaptable to working any day, hours and/or shifts
· The employee must be able to work in extreme weather conditions (Snow, Rain, Wind, Ice, Sun, Heat)
· Must be willing to live and work in a multi-cultural environment
Qualifications and Education Requirements
Qualified applicants must successfully pass a post-offer conditional Drug Screen. Must be able to read, write, and speak English, and possess the ability to follow both verbal and written instructions. Previous construction, mechanical, or maintenance experience is preferred. Must have the ability to recognize, correct and report safety hazards. Must have mechanical abilities.
· Must work well in team environments.
· Knowledge of creating and maintaining a safe work environment.
· Ability to identify, correct, and report Safety Hazards.
· Pleasant and professional demeanor dealing with co-workers, supervisors, employees, outside agencies, and vendors.
· Legible and neat handwriting.
· Valid driver’s License (Alaska Preferred)
· Must be able to read, write, and speak English the language.
· Previous mechanical and/or maintenance experience is a plus.
· Trade School/Community College degree is beneficial.
