Requirements

 Summary

Responsible for the installation, maintenance,   troubleshooting, and repair of mechanical equipment that comprises a production line, ensuring its efficient and safe operation while contributing to production quality. 

 

Essential Functions

  •  Repair and maintenance of equipment, including:

           - Conveyor Systems

           - Feed Chains

           - Water Lines

           - Fillers

           - Mixers

           - Ventilation Systems

           - Chillers

           - Heat exchangers

           - Motors

  • Troubleshoot and find the root cause of equipment problems
  • Lubricates and cleans parts
  • Performs preventative equipment maintenance
  • Adhere to all safety policies and procedures
  • Other duties as needed

Skills, Knowledge, Abilities

  • Strong maintenance aptitude includes knowledge of three phases: electrical, hydraulic, pneumatic, and PLC controls.
  • Smart Logic Controls
  • Solid State Motor Controls
  • Latching Contract Wiring
  • Transformer and Contact Operation
  • Fusing
  • Amperage and Voltage requirements
  • Control Wiring Theory
  • Shop math skills.
  • Strong troubleshooting ability required

 

Work Environment

 ·  Manufacturing environment, hot and cold conditions, loud noises, smells

 

Equipment Used and Physical Demands

  •  May require working at heights or in confined spaces
  • Required to wear appropriate PPE, including safety glasses and hearing protection
  • Move, Traverse frequently
  • Reaching, bending, and kneeling
  • Occasionally Ascends/Descends – may need to climb ladders or stairs to reach various heights
  • Manual dexterity and Hand-Eye Coordination
  • Stationary position seldom to occasionally
  • Frequently communicate and converse with co-workers
  • Occasionally position oneself in a confined space
  • Operate and maneuver 

Expected Hours of Work

 

· Monday – Friday, 40 hours

· Overtime as needed

· Saturdays as needed

 

 Required Education and Experience

 

· High school diploma or GED required

· 5 + years of proven maintenance mechanical experience in a fast-paced lean manufacturing environment preferred.
