Position Overview

The Maintenance Manager – Heat Treat Department will oversee all maintenance activities related to our industrial furnaces, heat treat systems, and supporting plant equipment. This role requires a hands-on leader with strong mechanical and electrical aptitude, exceptional problem-solving skills, and a track record of successfully managing maintenance teams in a manufacturing environment.

Key Responsibilities

· Oversee maintenance operations within the Heat Treat Department to ensure maximum equipment uptime and production efficiency.

· Supervise and mentor a team of maintenance technicians, setting daily priorities and ensuring timely completion of work orders.

· Troubleshoot, repair, and maintain industrial furnaces, burners, control systems, and related mechanical/electrical components.

· Develop and manage a preventive maintenance program to reduce unplanned downtime.

· Coordinate with production and quality teams to minimize process interruptions.

· Work closely with vendors and contractors for parts procurement, repair services, and capital improvement projects.

· Ensure compliance with all safety, environmental, and quality standards.

· Track maintenance KPIs and manage department budget.

· Lead or assist with equipment upgrades, new installations, and process improvements.

Salary range for this is 105-115k  per year

Required Skills and Qualifications

· 3+ years of maintenance management or supervisory experience in an industrial or manufacturing environment.

· Strong mechanical and electrical troubleshooting skills, particularly with heat treat furnaces and combustion systems.

· Knowledge of industrial controls, PLCs, and instrumentation preferred.

· Experience with preventive and predictive maintenance programs.

· Ability to read and interpret blueprints, schematics, and technical manuals.

· Excellent organizational, communication, and leadership skills.

· Working knowledge of OSHA safety standards and industrial best practices.

Preferred Qualifications

· Experience with gas-fired or electric heat treat furnaces, quench systems, or atmosphere control systems.

· Familiarity with ISO 9001 / TS 16949 quality standards.

· Technical or trade certification in mechanical, electrical, or industrial maintenance.
