Our client is seeking a Manager to oversee production and quality control of our shredder operations. This role involves supervising employees, managing maintenance activities, and ensuring safety and regulatory compliance.

Key Responsibilities:
Leadership:
Provide leadership to department employees on multiple shifts. Assign daily duties to shredder operators, maintenance personnel, and cleaners.
Safety:
Maintain a safe work environment and assist in training employees on safety procedures. Ensure compliance with corporate safety policies, OSHA, and other regulatory guidelines.
Maintenance Coordination:
Communicate with the Maintenance Manager to address repair and maintenance needs. Develop a 6-month plan for scheduled repairs, upgrades, and major projects.
Operational Performance:
Implement and maintain a quality control program, ensuring finished goods meet internal standards and customer specifications. Prepare and monitor daily production reports to improve throughput, reduce costs, and increase profitability.
Inventory Management:
Manage spare components and wear parts inventory, ensuring efficient and effective equipment functioning.
Budgeting & Forecasting:
Prepare and monitor daily production reports. Implement operational goals based on monthly projections set by management.
Administrative Management:
Interview prospective production employees, review performance of employees, and ensure compliance with HR policies and union contracts.
Essential Functions Manager:
Ensure safe work practices and equipment are used at all times.
Assign work schedules for employees to run efficiently at optimal production rates with minimal overtime.
Act as a backup shredder operator in emergency situations.
Collaborate with internal teams to optimize plant operations.
Manage spare parts inventory and coordinate major projects.
Qualifications:
Education:
High school diploma or equivalent.
Experience:
5-10 years of manufacturing work experience, with 2-5 years of managerial experience. Strong mechanical aptitude and knowledge of manufacturing processes required. Maintenance background preferred.
Skills:
Proficient in Word, Excel, and Outlook. Strong communication skills, both oral and written. Experience with continuous improvement initiatives and managing production metrics.
Other:
Previous experience working on shredders and knowledge of hydraulic equipment/systems is required.
