Job Description - Maintenance Mechanic

Description

Epsilyte in Peru, IL is seeking a Maintenance Mechanic who wants to be an impactful member of the Maintenance Team. Normal work week is M-Th, 6a-4:30p (4x10's). This role will be responsible for installing, maintaining, and repairing all plant fixed/rotating equipment such as pumps, agitators, gear boxes, and seals. Position Duties/Responsibilities:  

  • Maintenance and repair of a wide range of plant equipment and systems 
  • Root cause analysis and troubleshooting equipment failures and/or issues 
  • Equipment inspections during overhauls 
  • Working knowledge of:
    • Work orders, drawings and schematics 
    • Precision measuring and alignment tools
    • Troubleshoot and repair rotating equipment 
    • Perform alignment on pump/motor assembly 
    • Perform minor welding repairs 
    • Install and remove bearings 
    • Single/double mechanical seals 

Requirements

Qualifications:  

  • Completion of an Industrial Mechanic technical training program OR Journeyman licensed Millwright, Pump Mechanic, and/or Pipefitter, OR 10 or more years of relevant industrial maintenance work experience
  • High School Diploma or equivalent

Other Considerations:

  • Current starting rate is $37.84/hour with annual contractual increases 
  • Must be able to work OT, weekends, on-call, and holidays
  • Physical requirements – Must be able to walk/stand/bend/stoop, raise and transport items weighing up to 50 pounds, climb stairs and ladders. Wearing personal protective equipment (FR clothing, hard hat, safety glasses, heeled boots, and hearing protection), including using a respirator, is required. Must be able to respond to visual and audible alarms
  • Good written and verbal communication skills and outstanding interpersonal skills, including the ability to work as part of a team, are critical for success
  • This role is subject to the Transportation Workers Identification Credentialing rule or "TWIC" and requires the successful candidate to obtain a TWIC identification badge, allowing for unescorted access to the facility within a specific time
