Maintenance Mechanic

Under minimal supervision, apply mechanical and basic electrical skills in order to perform corrective and preventative maintenance for production, fabrication, service equipment and facilities. In this role you will be out on the floor troubleshooting and repairing mostly mechanical systems like bearings, gear boxes, hydraulics, pneumatics, and basic electrical systems. They would like people to think outside the box and who can read and even create sketches, figure out what materials are needed in order to fabricate parts needed for maintenance of equipment. 

Essential Functions:

• Troubleshoot, evaluate, repair, devise and improvise, make corrections or adjustments, use tools and testing devices to maintain equipment under the direction of the Maintenance Manager.
  

• Perform mechanical and light Electrical maintenance on production equipment, facilities equipment, laboratory equipment, and testing equipment.
  

• Preventative Maintenance Program implementation.
  

• Maintain awareness of new systems and techniques in order to upgrade existing and processes.
  

• follow safety procedures and work carefully to prevent injuries and avoid damage to company property.
  

• Regular and predictable attendance.
  

• Read and interpret manuals and drawings, complete and maintain all required reports.
  

• Effective communicate and cooperate with supervisor and co -workers to achieve company goals and objectives.
  

• Manage day to day maintenance issues under minimal supervision.
  

• Find root cause for machine failures
  

• Source parts through vendors when needed.
  

• Work with contractors to complete projects.
  

• Maintain inventory of spare parts and supplies.
  

• Some General Electrical Ability required:  Read Electrical schematics wires / relay logic, general exposure to automation and PLC
  

• Keep work area clean and organized
  

• Routinely check tools to keep proper working order.
  

• Help maintain inventory of repair parts and supplies.
  

• Collaborate with other departments such as Production Managers, Fabrication Managers, Quality Control, Etc.
  

Requirements

• 5 years industry or Military experience performing general mechanical and basic electrical maintenance in an industrial or manufacturing environment.
  

• Must have basic fabrication and basic electrical background and knowledge.
  

• Ability to safely use all required tools and equipment
  

• Must be able to work overtime and odd hours without notice when there is an urgent equipment outage in order to maximize facility up -time.
