Maintenance Mechanic

Job Description:     

The Mechanical Maintenance  plays a crucial role in ensuring the efficient operation of production machines and facility systems by utilizing a diverse set of mechanical skills, including but not limited to mechanical, electrical, pneumatic, refrigeration, and hydraulic troubleshooting and repair. This position involves proactive maintenance, rapid problem-solving, and collaboration with other team members to maintain optimal production efficiency and facility functionality. 

Essential Functions:   

• Provides emergency/unscheduled repairs of production equipment during production and performs scheduled maintenance repairs of production equipment during machine service  

• Read and interprets equipment manuals and work orders to perform required maintenance and service  

• Comply with OSHA Safety and Health rules  

• Building Maintenance  

• Knowledge of construction, electrical, and mechanical Maintenance.   

• Conduct troubleshooting and repair of production machines and facility systems, utilizing a wide range of mechanical skills including mechanical, electrical, pneumatic, refrigeration, and hydraulic systems. 

• Perform preventative maintenance tasks to minimize downtime and optimize equipment performance. 

• Diagnose electrical issues such as motor failures, electrical shorts, and faulty sensors, and repair or replace components as necessary. 

• Identify and resolve pneumatic system malfunctions including leaks, valve failures, and pressure inconsistencies. 

• Troubleshoot and repair refrigeration systems to ensure proper temperature control and functionality. 

• Maintain hydraulic systems by inspecting for leaks, replacing seals, and adjusting pressure levels. 

• Collaborate with production staff to understand equipment operation and address any mechanical issues affecting production output. 

• Keep detailed records of maintenance activities, including repairs, replacements, and preventative maintenance tasks. 

• Assist in the installation and commissioning of new equipment, ensuring it meets operational standards. 

• Adhere to safety protocols and guidelines while performing maintenance tasks, and actively participate in safety meetings and training sessions. 

Knowledge, Skills, Abilities:   

• Ability to add, subtract, multiply, and divide in all units of measure, using whole numbers, common fractions, and decimals. Ability to read blueprints and micrometers.  

• Must know proper use of hand and power tools, to include multimeter.  

• While performing the duties of this job the employee is regularly exposed to mechanical parts.  

• The employee must frequently lift and/or move up to 50 pounds.  

• Ability to work on ladders and aerial platforms up to 50 feet.  

Minimum Requirements:   

• High school diploma or GED . Minimum of 5+ years of current maintenance experience working in an industrial/manufacturing environment .  

• Advanced Manufacturing Industrial Maintenance degree preferred.  

• This position will require work on shutdowns and may be to work holidays. Frequent short notice overtime, which may include weekends, is also .    

• Must furnish own tools.
