Maintenance Mechanic - 1st Shift (Internal Job Posting)

A total of 4 job openings exist for the above position. Must have a current Maintenance job classification and submitting this bid for a change in shift assignment only. The employee selected by the Company must NOW meet the qualifications required to perform each task of the job in a satisfactory manner after only a reasonable orientation period.

Employee must have Minimum 2 years of industrial mechanical experience or
completion of craft apprenticeship or an Associate’s Degree in a maintenance-related field.  Must have strong mechanical and troubleshooting skills, and be familiar with common shop equipment and tools. Have basic electrical knowledge, be able to use measuring devices, and have basic computer skills.

Requires the ability to read and write the English language in order to accurately and speedily follow written instructions.  Frequently works while standing, and works in a controlled heat environment over normal room temperature.  Employee will be required to perform unassisted lifting of materials weighing up to 50 pounds.  Also frequently bends, stoops, and reaches with hands and arms.

The current wage rate for this Job Classification is outlined in the Collective Bargaining Agreement.

This position will be awarded to a qualified applicant in accordance with merit, ability, and seniority provisions of the Collective Bargaining Agreement.
