Maintenance Mechanic & Welder

We are currently seeking a skilled Mechanic & Welder to perform general maintenance, fabrication, and welding tasks. This position is responsible for maintaining and repairing industrial and construction equipment. The role is based onsite at our Jackson, New Jersey facility.

What will be my responsibilities?

· Repair and maintain equipment at our facility and project sites for: pumps, forklifts, drilling equipment, motors, filter presses, generators, compressors. Heavy equipment a plus.

· Performs lubrication, welding and fabrication.

· Schedule maintenance/repair services for equipment to be sent out.

· Report defects and issues to supervisors and document all repair results.

· Maintains shop in a neat and orderly fashion.

· Identify process improvements opportunities.

· Keep up to date on new equipment and technology regarding repairs and maintenance

· Learn and comply with all safe work practices, policies, and processes.

· Be exposed to indoor and outdoor activities.

· Professionally represent Handex at all times.

Skills needed for success:

· High School, Vocational Technical diploma or GED required.

· Auto Mechanic Technical Degree/Diploma/Certification a plus.

· 4+ years of industrial/construction/farming/military mechanical repair and maintenance experience.

· Must be able to fabricate, weld, cut, solder and braze various metals.

· Self motivated with good communication and interpersonal skills as well as a team player.

· Highly organized, with attention to detail and customer service oriented.

· MS Office Suite knowledge a plus.

· Willingness to travel for day trips on occasion to client sites for repairs regionally (NJ/PA/DE).

· Valid driver license in good standing required. CDL a plus.

· Must be able to pass pre-employment background checks (physical/drug/alcohol/DMV).

Salary Range:

$30.00 to $35.00 an hour.
