Job Description - Maintenance of Line (MOL) Engineer
The MOL Engineer will lead and perform a wide variety of engineering, project management, and technical tasks involving the application of engineering knowledge and the development of solutions to complex problems pertaining to medium voltage switchgear products, materials, manufacturing processes, development tests, and unique customer applications. This role is a culmination of various engineering disciplines that facilitate the product line growth and continuous improvements for manufacturing. In this function you will: Support updates to existing products and new product development projects, including developing and maintaining detailed project schedule and scope while incorporating resource management, maintaining a budget, and meeting milestone deliverables. Delegate design and drafting responsibilities to team and manages the release of engineering models & documents through change management practices. Develop and execute design verification test plans and reports. Support the quality team in determining root cause for warranty and quality issues, and recommend potential solutions. Collaborate with supply chain and purchasing to identify and select suppliers to support new designs. Initiate and prepare specifications for products, equipment, and processes while maintaining awareness and control of costs. Support creation of applications notes, marketing literature, and technical papers. Work with manufacturing, quality, supply chain, and field sales on meeting new design manufacturability, product performance and cost goals. Coordinate prototype builds and testing. Writing and implementation of design verification test plans (electrical, thermal, and mechanical). Coordinating design verification test plans when necessary with the applicable standards agencies (UL, CSA, KEMA, ANSI, etc.). Provide technical training for both internal and external audiences. Bachelor's degree in Mechanical or Electrical Engineering from an accredited institution Minimum of three (3) years of engineering experience Minimum of 1 year of customer service experience in an engineering environment. Must be legally authorized to work in the United States without company sponsorship now or in the future. Bachelor's degree (Dual Major) in Mechanical and Electrical Engineering from an accredited institution or a Minor in Mechanical Engineering Three (3) years of engineering experience in an industrial/manufacturing environment Product engineering experience on Medium Voltage Assemblies product line(s) Product knowledge of components used in the Electrical Switchgear industry. (Breakers, Switches, Transformers and their applications) Working knowledge of industry standards: ANSI, IEEE, IEC, UL, CSA Experience working with global suppliers or vendors for design/manufacturing/supply chain/quality. Experience with approval process (PPAP), capability studies and testing assistance is preferred. Position Criteria: Strong technical writing skills and verbal communication & presentation skills Strong understanding of technical applications.
