Job Description - Maintenance Operations Support

POSITION SUMMARY

We are seeking a versatile and proactive Maintenance Operations Support to join our team. This role will serve as a key resource within the maintenance department, wearing multiple hats to support team members, new hires, and operational needs across various sites. The ideal candidate is a hands-on problem-solver with strong organizational skills, a passion for fostering best practices, and the flexibility to travel as needed.


 


ESSENTIAL JOB FUNCTIONS



  • Training & Onboarding: Partner with management to train and assist new hires, ensuring smooth integration into the maintenance team through hands-on guidance and skill development.

  • Team Support: Provide ongoing support to all maintenance team members, troubleshooting issues, answering questions, and facilitating communication across shifts and sites.

  • Maintenance Best Practices: Promote and assist in implementing maintenance best practices, including preventive maintenance techniques, safety protocols, and process improvements.

  • Vendor & Supply Coordination: Assist with vendor setup, manage procurement of supplies, and ensure timely ordering and delivery to support maintenance operations at each site.

  • Shops & Inventory Management: Help maintain organized shops and oversee inventory tracking, ensuring tools, parts, and materials are readily available and properly documented.

  • Special Projects: Lead or assist with on-site special projects, such as equipment upgrades, facility improvements, or process optimizations, as assigned.

  • Travel: Travel to various sites as required to provide hands-on support, training, and project oversight.



KNOWLEDGE, SKILLS, AND ABILITIES REQUIRED



  • Proven experience in property maintenance, property management, or a related field (minimum of 2-3 years of relevant experience).

  • Strong interpersonal skills with the ability to train and support team members effectively.

  • Knowledge of maintenance best practices, inventory management, and vendor coordination.

  • Excellent organizational and multitasking abilities, with a detail-oriented mindset.

  • Willingness and ability to travel to multiple sites as needed (valid driver’s license required).

  • Proficiency in basic computer tools (e.g., Microsoft Office, inventory software) is a plus.

  • Ability to work independently and collaboratively in a fast-paced environment.

PHYSICAL DEMANDS



  • Must be able to lift 25 pounds at a time

  • Must be able to walk property to diagnose building issues and plan repairs or maintenance

  • Must be able to climb ladders, work in confined spaces, and perform tasks in various weather conditions as needed.



WORK ENVIRONMENT



  • This position requires regular office hours to be maintained (8 am – 5 pm, M-F).

  • This position also requires scheduled on-call hours for emergency situations outside of regular office hours.

  • Travel: This position requires 40-50% travel to various sites, including potential overnight stays. Travel expenses, including mileage and accommodations, will be reimbursed per company policy.
