Maintenance Planner / Scheduler

Location: Bridgeport CT
Compensation: $95,000 – $125,000 + Relocation Assistance

A power generation facility is seeking an experienced Maintenance Planner / Scheduler to support plant reliability, maintenance planning, and outage coordination. This role plays a key part in ensuring maintenance work is properly planned, scheduled, and executed to maximize plant availability and equipment performance.

The Maintenance Planner will coordinate daily maintenance activities, support planned outages and major overhauls, manage contractor work scopes, and maintain the plant’s CMMS system (Maximo preferred). This position works closely with operations, maintenance, and corporate engineering teams to improve equipment reliability and optimize maintenance strategies.

Key Responsibilities

  • Plan and schedule preventive, predictive, and corrective maintenance activities
  • Develop detailed maintenance work packages and job plans
  • Coordinate planned outages, shutdowns, and major maintenance overhauls
  • Utilize CMMS (Maximo preferred) to manage work orders, schedules, and maintenance history
  • Monitor equipment performance and assist with root cause analysis for equipment failures
  • Support predictive maintenance programs and reliability initiatives
  • Coordinate vendors and contractors during maintenance and outage activities
  • Prepare scopes of work, evaluate bids, and assist with contractor selection
  • Track maintenance budgets, materials, and spare parts inventory
  • Work with plant leadership to maintain maintenance schedules for turbines and major equipment
  • Ensure compliance with safety, environmental, and regulatory requirements

Qualifications

  • 10+ years of maintenance experience in power generation or heavy industrial environments
  • Strong maintenance planning and scheduling experience
  • Experience with CMMS systems (Maximo strongly preferred)
  • Experience planning plant outages, shutdowns, or major maintenance projects
  • Familiarity with turbines, boilers, generators, and balance-of-plant equipment
  • Experience managing contractors and maintenance vendors
  • Proficiency with Microsoft Office and scheduling tools (MS Project preferred)

Education:
Bachelor’s degree in Engineering or equivalent technical experience preferred.
