PRIMARY RESPONSIBILITIES/ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS:
• Maintains close liaison with Operations, Stores, Engineering, Maintenance, Electrical & Instrumentation, and other departments.
• Plans all work orders by analyzing them into basic job steps. Determines the sequence relative to each step including parts, materials, skills, special tools, and rental equipment. Obtains drawings, sketches, specifications, and procedures as needed.
• Estimates all costs for work orders as required.
• Initiates and plans work orders for repairs discovered from preventive maintenance inspections/routines and obtains necessary approvals.
• Develop standard work for recurring work.
• Maintains equipment history records. Data includes closed out work orders, preventive maintenance check lists, drawings, and modifications.
SUPERVISORY RESPONSIBILITIES:
• Relief Maintenance Manager in the absence of the Maintenance Manager.
INTERDEPARTMENTAL RELATIONSHIPS:
• Requires adaptability/flexibility to work with all departments of the plant to accomplish mill goals.
COMPETENCIES AND SKILLS REQUIRED:
• Must be proficient in root cause analysis and trouble shooting.
• The ability to tell when something is wrong or is likely to go wrong. It does not involve solving the problem only recognizing there is a problem.
• The ability to listen to and understand information and instruction presented through spoken words and sentences.
• Job requires being pleasant with others on the job and displaying a good natured, cooperative attitude.
• Job requires being open to change (positive or negative) and to considerable variety in the workplace.
EDUCATION, EXPERIENCE:
• Must have professional training in mechanical or a related field, encompassing both traditional and/or non-traditional educational pathways. This training can include formal university degrees, technical certifications, and hands-on apprenticeships.
• Clear communication (oral and written) skills.
• Some previous work-related skills, knowledge, or experience in a manufacturing environment preferred but not required if possessing appropriate skills.
• Proficiency in Microsoft Excel and Microsoft Outlook Suite.
• Experience with FIIX a plus but not required.
PHYSICAL REQUIREMENTS:
• Performing physical activities that require considerable use of your arms and back such as handling product.
• Job requires standing on feet and or walking throughout the entire work shift.
• The ability to quickly and repeatedly bend, stretch twist, or reach out with your body and arms requiring flexibility.
• Must be able to lift 40 pounds.
SAFE WORK PRACTICES:
• Diligently monitor work area for any potential safety hazards and react appropriately/efficiently to eliminate potential accidents.
• Complete accident reports as needed, with support from the EHS Manager.
• Support operations management team in safety program initiatives.
CLOTHING REQUIREMENTS:
• Safety toed and slip resistant boots/shoes when in production areas.
• Safety glasses will be supplied and are required at all times in the production area.
• Ear plugs required in ALL Production areas.
