Location:  Richmond, VA  /   Schedule:  Full Time - 5 Days - Monday through Saturday,  7:00AM Start  /  $31.09 Hourly with Excellent Benefits

We are searching for a Maintenance Scheduler & Purchasing Specialist who will be responsible for coordinating preventive and corrective maintenance schedules while ensuring the timely procurement of necessary parts and materials. This role optimizes maintenance planning to minimize downtime and improve operational efficiency. Additionally, this role is responsible for maintaining our CMMS to include MRO inventory and procurement.


 


Key Responsibilities:


Maintenance Scheduling and Planning






  • Maintain the preventive maintenance (PM) schedule using CMMS (Computerized Maintenance Management System).

  • Work closely with maintenance supervisors and technicians to plan and prioritize work orders based on urgency and equipment criticality, to include creating WO’s and kitting parts.

  • Track and update work order progress, ensuring completion within required timeframes.

  • Analyze equipment history to minimize unplanned failures.

  • Coordinate with production teams to schedule maintenance during optimal downtime.



Procurement and Inventory Management






  • Source, order, and track spare parts, tools, and materials needed for maintenance activities.

  • Maintain an optimized inventory of critical spare parts, balancing cost and availability.

  • Maintain relationships with vendors and suppliers to ensure quality standards are met.

  • Monitor stock levels and generate purchase requisitions as needed.

  • Verify incoming shipments for accuracy and quality, ensuring compliance with safety and reliability standards.



CMMS and Documentation






  • Utilize CMMS software to manage work orders, inventory, and maintenance records.

  • Maintain accurate data on equipment downtime, parts usage, and maintenance costs.

  • Generate reports for KPIs such as schedule compliance, spare parts consumption, and procurement efficiency.



Continuous Improvement and Compliance






  • Identify opportunities to improve maintenance scheduling processes to reduce downtime and enhance efficiency.

  • Ensure compliance with safety regulations and company maintenance procedures. 

  • Support audits by providing documentation on procurement and maintenance schedules.



Required Experience and Education:




  • 3+ years of experience in maintenance scheduling, procurement, or inventory management in an industrial setting.

  • Associate’s or Bachelor's degree in Supply Chain Management, Engineering, Maintenance, or a related field (preferred but not required).



Other Technical and Soft Skills Required:




  • Strong understanding of preventive and predictive maintenance methodologies.

  • Proficiency in procurement and supply chain processes for industrial equipment and spare parts.

  • Excellent problem-solving skills and attention to detail.

  • Ability to prioritize tasks in a fast-paced, industrial environment.

  • Strong communication skills to coordinate with maintenance teams, vendors, and production staff.
