Description
The Maintenance Supervisor will collaborate closely with Production, Sanitation, and assigned Maintenance Technicians to ensure the safe and efficient operation of production equipment. This role is responsible for overseeing production activities and for leading, coaching, and developing a high-performing maintenance team to support operational excellence.
Requirements
· Contributes to a positive and proactive safety culture. Demonstrates strong commitment and leadership to providing a sustainable, safe, and healthful work environment. Ensures full compliance with all applicable company and regulatory environmental, health and safety requirements.
· Lead production maintenance support in an efficient fashion to minimize overtime and maximize equipment uptime. Minimizes unplanned work through workflow organization and streamlining.
· Promotes, supports, and ensures compliance with all food safety and quality practices, policies, and initiatives.
· Designs. implements and manages projects to drive continuous improvement; manages and leads cross-functional project teams and collaborates across departments.
· Assist Technicians in troubleshooting equipment. Supervise repairs of a non-routine nature and inspect quality of completed repairs.
· Develop, implement, and supervise Preventive and Predictive Maintenance (P.M./PdM) programs and coordinate downtime with production and production scheduling to accomplish schedule.
· Participates in the planning and evaluation of capital equipment purchases, modifications and associated spare parts purchases.
· Lead the production maintenance team in equipment related projects. Work across department lines to obtain necessary support to ensure completion on time and at budget.
· As needed, assist the Engineering and Facilities Maintenance Manager with the coordination of maintenance projects.
· Manage small facility projects, ensuring timelines, budgets, and quality standards are met.
· Schedule assistance when technical experts are required to make repairs on equipment. Supervise work to ensure repairs are made.
· Ensure compliance with OSHA, WISHA, EPA, PSM, HAZMAT, and other applicable regulations.
· Observe operation of Production equipment and note areas requiring repairs and modifications.
· Develop and mentor direct reports to build a solid technical foundation for the maintenance department.
· Other duties as assigned.
Qualifications
· Strong leadership skills and the ability to build a world class maintenance team.
· Formal training in a mechanical-related trade or equivalent experience
· 3+ years of supervisory experience
· Strong engineering/mechanical/electrical background
· Prior maintenance experience in a food manufacturing setting is preferred
· Prior experience with setting CMMS
· Implemented projects related to quality control standards, lean manufacturing, six sigma, or any form of QC related to TPS.
· Experience with refrigeration systems preferred
· Strong written and oral communication skills
· Strong computer skills
· Solid pneumatic, conveyor, and electrical experience and prior work with PLCs
· Experience with certifications or audits from OSHA and Food Safety regulations preferred
· Experienced in mechanical and electrical blueprints/drawings
· Experience with SDS. Knowledge of chemical safety. Knowledge of proper use of sanitizing chemicals and techniques.
· PLC programming and advanced pneumatic, conveyors, and electrical experience
Salary range here: $90,000-$110,000
