Maintenance Supervisor

The Maintenance Supervisor position will lead, plan, and implement all machine and facility maintenance activities throughout our White Bear Lake location This position will lead a team of internal maintenance technicians, liaison outside contractors/ vendors and ensure process and procedure adherence. 

Job Responsibilities
 

• Prioritize and assign daily jobs and work orders and provide a clear direction to maintenance employees. Oversee pass-down issues. Monitor activities to ensure an efficient and safe maintenance operation
• Work with inventory or supply employees to ensure an adequate inventory of spare parts and equipment.
• Remain current with latest and emerging industry regulations and codes relative to mechanical, building and safety requirements..
• Provide staff with the necessary training on existing and new equipment.
• Complete supervisory activities such as administering employee promotions and transfers; reviewing and editing employee timekeeping; completing performance evaluations; mentoring, training, and coaching employees.
• Ensure the maintenance technicians have a good understanding of work practices and procedures
• Supervise, coordinate, and contribute to daily mechanical and facility tasks
• Actively support and implement preventative maintenance programs; schedule and provide constant monitoring of the preventative maintenance program and make adjustments as needed.
• All other duties as assigned

Minimum Qualifications
Education:

• High school degree or GED required
• Two-year technical degree preferred, or equivalent experience.

Experience:

• Minimum five years experience in mechanical maintenance function.
• Minimum two years experience in a Lead or Supervisor role.

Knowledge/Skills:

• Ability to trouble-shoot mechanical and electrical problems
• Previous experience operating a variety of maintenance tools, lathe, drill press, air tools, sweeper, lawn mower, forklifts, and drivable man-lift
• Ability to read blueprints and electrical, mechanical and hydraulic schematics
• Experience leading and following Safety/Security Policies and Procedures
• Working knowledge of fabrication, welding, and machining methods is a plus
• Strong written and communication skills
• Proficient computer skills 
• Ability to adapt to changing organizational and operational needs, ability to lead others through change
