MAINTENANCE SUPERVISOR

Company: Cotton Images
Location: Doral, FL (Miami Area) — 100% on-site
Salary: $60,000–$70,000
Schedule: Monday–Friday, 9:00 AM – 5:30 PM
Reports to: Owner

ABOUT THE COMPANY

Cotton Images is a family-owned screen printing, embroidery, and garment-dye manufacturing company with over 35 years in business. From our 39,000 sq ft Doral facility, a team of 130 produces for major brands including Hard Rock, Carnival, Royal Caribbean, MSC, and the American Red Cross. This is a deadline-driven production environment where equipment uptime keeps us on schedule.

POSITION SUMMARY

You will supervise our maintenance department—managing a small team of technicians, overseeing maintenance operations, and handling purchasing for the department. Your job is to ensure equipment stays running, work gets completed properly, and your team performs.
We use a maintenance management system to track work orders and preventive maintenance schedules. The system is already set up. You'll use it to manage workflow, monitor what's getting done, and keep leadership informed.

THIS IS AN AI-FORWARD ROLE

We're looking for someone who already uses AI tools in their daily work—and is excited about using them more. You'll have the freedom to leverage AI to work smarter: analyzing data, solving problems, drafting communications, streamlining workflows, and finding better ways to get things done.
If you're the kind of person who's already experimenting with ChatGPT, Claude, or similar tools to improve how you work, you'll fit right in. If you're waiting for someone to teach you AI, this isn't the role for you.

WHAT YOU'LL BE RESPONSIBLE FOR

Team Management

  • Supervise a small team of maintenance technicians
  • Assign work, set priorities, and ensure tasks are completed correctly
  • Conduct performance reviews and address performance issues
  • Hold technicians accountable for work quality and documentation

Maintenance Operations

  • Manage daily work orders and preventive maintenance schedules through our system
  • Ensure maintenance work is completed on time and documented properly
  • Coordinate maintenance windows with production to minimize disruption
  • Investigate repeat equipment issues and implement solutions
  • Report maintenance status and issues to ownership

Purchasing & Vendors

  • Purchase parts, supplies, and materials for the maintenance department
  • Manage vendor relationships and coordinate outside service when needed
  • Track inventory and ensure critical parts are in stock

WHAT WE'RE LOOKING FOR

Someone organized, responsible, and good with people—who also thinks like a problem-solver and reaches for AI tools when it makes sense. You'll need to manage a team, stay on top of multiple priorities, and ensure procedures get followed. We'll provide training on our systems and processes—what matters is that you're capable of learning quickly and taking ownership.
This role requires someone comfortable holding people accountable. When work isn't getting done or standards aren't being met, you address it directly.

  • Active AI user: You already use AI tools (ChatGPT, Claude, or similar) regularly and are excited to use them more.
  • Bilingual (English/Spanish): Our production team is Spanish-speaking. You must communicate effectively in both languages.
  • Microsoft Excel proficiency: Comfortable with spreadsheets, reports, and basic data tracking.
  • Strong computer skills: Able to learn new software quickly.
  • Organized and detail-oriented: You track what needs to get done and follow through.
  • Comfortable managing people: You can assign work, give feedback, and address problems directly.
  • Authorized to work in the United States

PREFERRED

  • Supervisory or team lead experience
  • Experience with work order systems, scheduling software, or inventory management
  • Background in manufacturing, warehouse, or production environments
  • Purchasing or vendor coordination experience

WHAT WE OFFER

  • Salary: $60,000–$70,000 depending on experience
  • Benefits: Health, dental, and vision insurance
  • AI-forward environment: Freedom to use AI tools to improve your work
  • Stable, family-owned company with 35+ years in business
  • Training and support provided as you get up to speed
