Position Overview
We are seeking an experienced Maintenance Supervisor to lead facility and equipment maintenance operations for a growing manufacturing organization in South Windsor, Connecticut.
This is a hands-on leadership role responsible for supervising maintenance personnel, improving equipment reliability, reducing downtime, and ensuring production equipment and facility systems operate safely and efficiently.
The ideal candidate has a strong industrial or manufacturing maintenance background, proven leadership experience, and hands-on knowledge of mechanical, electrical, hydraulic, pneumatic, and automated equipment.
Key Responsibilities
Lead, coach, and develop maintenance technicians and support personnel.
Plan and oversee preventive, predictive, and corrective maintenance activities.
Maintain production machinery, facility systems, utilities, and supporting equipment.
Provide hands-on technical support for complex equipment issues.
Reduce equipment downtime through root-cause analysis and corrective action.
Develop maintenance schedules that support production requirements.
Manage CMMS work orders, maintenance records, and spare-parts inventory.
Track maintenance KPIs including downtime, response time, PM completion, and equipment reliability.
Coordinate equipment installations, upgrades, repairs, and capital improvement projects.
Manage outside contractors, equipment suppliers, and service providers.
Ensure compliance with OSHA requirements, lockout/tagout procedures, company safety policies, environmental standards, and applicable regulations.
Support continuous-improvement, lean-manufacturing, and cost-reduction initiatives.
Assist with maintenance department operating and capital budgets.
Collaborate with production, engineering, quality, and operations leadership.
Required Qualifications
5+ years of industrial or manufacturing maintenance experience.
Previous maintenance leadership or supervisory experience.
Strong knowledge of preventive and predictive maintenance programs.
Experience troubleshooting mechanical, electrical, hydraulic, pneumatic, and automated equipment.
Experience using a CMMS or similar maintenance-management system.
Working knowledge of OSHA requirements, lockout/tagout procedures, and industrial safety practices.
Strong leadership, planning, communication, and problem-solving skills.
Ability to manage multiple priorities in a fast-paced manufacturing environment.
Preferred Qualifications
Bachelor's degree in engineering, industrial technology, facilities management, or a related field.
Experience with PLC-controlled machinery and industrial controls.
Familiarity with HVAC, compressors, boilers, and facility systems.
Experience in a high-volume manufacturing environment.
Lean Manufacturing, Six Sigma, or continuous-improvement experience.
Experience managing capital projects and equipment installations.
Certified Maintenance and Reliability Professional (CMRP) or similar certification.
This is a full-time, onsite position in South Windsor, CT. Relocation assistance is not available.
This direct-hire opportunity offers a competitive salary of $85,000–$100,000 annually, based on experience and qualifications. The position is full-time and 100% onsite in South Windsor, CT.
