MAINTENANCE SUPERVISOR
Reports to: Maintenance Manager
Location: Chilton, WI
Job Description:
Support Total Productive Maintenance and Operational Excellence by playing a hands-on role (approx. 80% spent on the production floor) in leading daily maintenance activities, and troubleshooting equipment issues to ensure seamless operation of automated systems
Work to maximize uptime, enhance productivity, and reduce waste through Lean maintenance practices
Coordinate and lead daily maintenance activities to ensure equipment readiness and minimize downtime
Prioritize and assign tasks to maintenance techs
Support TPM by promoting and facilitating TPM practices including preventive, predictive, and autonomous maintenance
Conduct hands-on troubleshooting of mechanical, electrical, and automated systems; use root cause analysis (i.e., 5 Whys) to identify issues and implement effective solutions
Address issues to maintain JIT production flow
Develop, document, and implement standardized work procedures for tasks
Lead continuous improvement efforts, including Kaizen initiatives, to enhance maintenance practices, reduce waste, etc.
Work cross-functionally to support other teams' needs and align maintenance schedules
Participate in Genchi Genbutso (go and see) activities to understand and address equipment-related challenges on the production floor
Ensure all maintenance work complies with OSHA and company safety standards
Utilize CMMS to log maintenance activities, monitor equipment history, and track maintenance/continuous improvement
Night Shift: 5:00 pm – 5:00 am (2-2-3 rotation)
Qualifications:
Associate degree in Mechanical, Electrical, or Industrial Maintenance or relevant field
6+ years of experience in a maintenance role in a manufacturing environment (food manufacturing preferred
1+ years of experience in a leadership or senior technician capacity
Knowledge of TPM, TPS, or lean manufacturing practices preferred
Strong knowledge of preventive, predictive, and autonomous maintenance techniques
Proficiency in troubleshooting and repairing electrical, mechanical, and automated systems (PLCs, robotics, etc.)
Ability to read and interpret schematics, blueprints, and technical manuals
Strong leadership and communications skills with the ability to motivate and guide team members
PLC skills required (Allen-Bradley PLC experience a plus)
