About the role

Our Norwich, NY location is part of our Applied Health and Nutrition Division and one of our specialty sites that creates proteins, lactose, coatings, and flavors. The location lies within Chenango County and is advantageously located within a 50-mile radius of the major cities of Binghamton, Syracuse, Utica, Cooperstown and Oneonta.​

Pay Rate: $26.00 - $44.00 per hour

Overtime Eligible: Yes

Days:  Rotating 12 hr, 5:45 AM - 6:15 PM – 3 days 1 week, 4 days next week.  Some holidays & weekends

Key responsibilities

Responsible for general maintenance work to keep production running efficiently.

• Familiar with the safe and proper use of all basic hand tools.


• Must not fear working in high places.


• Report and/or correct conditions that may affect the safe, efficient operation of equipment, including steam leaks, electrical energy waste, monitor Waste Treatment Plant, etc.


• Able to read and use service manuals and drawings.


• Able to operate forklift truck in a safe manner and use proper safety measures.


• Knowledge or demonstrate the ability to learn the following:




• disassembly and assembly of machinery and equipment, to include basic blueprint reading.


• piping installation.


• lubrication procedures and lubricants.


• Work safely with electricity at various voltages used in the plant, to include reading and understanding electrical prints.

Qualifications and skills

​ 2-5 years of Industrial Maintenance with experience in all or some of the following including but not limited to:
o  Ability to read and understand service manuals and equipment drawings. 

o  Experience troubleshooting electrical circuits and equipment.
o  Experience working with 480V electrical including single and 3 phase motors and VFDs.
o  Experience with process control instrumentation and mechanical power transmission
o  Experience working on piping systems including steam, water and chemical.
o  Experience pipe fitting, welding, and fabrication
o  Experience working on liquid processing equipment such as pumps, valves, filter presses, heat exchangers, evaporators, and spray dryers.
o  Knowledge of boilers, compressed air, HVAC, water distribution systems, waste-water treatment, and fire protection equipment/systems (with training)
o  Knowledge of or experience working with PLCs.
o  Documentation using a CMMS such as SAP or similar.

•  High school diploma or GED is required;
•  Associate degree or technical certification in related field is preferred;
•  Experience working in food/beverage is highly preferred.
