Maintenance Tech Lead

The Maintenance Lead is responsible for the operation, repair, and maintenance of industrial/building mechanical equipment and heating and air conditioning components. Work requires the ability to operate equipment according to manuals, directions, specifications or warning signals, and to read and interpret performance charts and control panels, blueprints, and schematics.

Primary duties and Responsibilities:

• Has the ability to monitor and adjust all mechanical/pneumatic equipment, control gauges, distributor panels, valves, thermostats, diffusers, hydraulics and other equipment necessary to provide a comfortable environment for the buildings 
• Performs adjustments or repairs necessary to ensure efficient performance 
• Operates and inspects the shops central air compressors
• Interprets test results to ensure proper parameters are maintained 
• Performs maintenance work when applicable on conveyors and sorters 
• Maintains and operates heaters, chillers, pumps, fan coil units, etc.
• Performs a variety of general tasks relating to boiler room operations and other building mechanicals 
• Troubleshoots, evaluates, and makes recommendations to upgrade maintenance operations and/or implement savings opportunities 
• Inspects buildings, grounds, and equipment for unsafe or malfunctioning conditions
• Communicates with management regarding issues and concerns 
• Conducts tests on systems and makes the appropriate changes and adjustments, calibrations, etc. 
• Maintains and inspects life safety components
• Performs related duties as assigned 

EDUCATION/EXPERIENCE REQUIREMENTS

• Must possess a high school diploma or GED equivalent.
• Must possess a minimum of 2-5 years of experience in industrial/building or food manufacturing.

KNOWLEDGE, SKILLS, AND ABILITIES

• Employee is required to stand for extended periods of time, walk, reach, climb, stoop, kneel and bend continuously. Must be able to climb ladders and stairs. Must be able to push/pull/lift up to 50 pounds 
• Must possess proficient mechanical, electrical, hydraulic and pneumatic troubleshooting skills and emergency repairs kills
• Ability to use multi-meter and other test instruments
• Strong organization and communication skills
• Must work effectively in a team setting and be able to cross train other mechanic and production personnel as needed
• Follow all company safety, GMP and HACCP rules
