About the Role
As a Maintenance Technician, you will play a key role in our dynamic team, bringing your passion for excellence to install, troubleshoot, repair, and maintain production equipment according to safety and maintenance programs. This role supports UMC’s business goals and objectives, ensuring smooth operations and continuous improvement while aligning with our core values—Great People, Going Beyond, and Growing. What You’ll Do
Keep CNC’s and other mechanical equipment in optimal operating condition.
Diagnose equipment failures and develop effective plans to restore equipment functionality quickly and efficiently.
Maintain flexibility for emergency and unscheduled repairs outside regular hours.
Perform scheduled preventive maintenance on equipment, working closely with machinists to ensure all tasks are completed accurately and on time.
Process incoming work requests and prioritize tasks based on urgency and operational needs.
Utilize company software systems to update equipment data and records accurately.
Utilize equipment manuals, schematics, and knowledge of control systems to aid in troubleshooting and repairs.
Operate and interpret inspection equipment, such as dial indicators, squares, and test bars, to verify equipment precision.
Ensures compliance with safety practices in all maintenance tasks.
Requirements
Education and Experience:
Associate’s degree in mechanical, electrical, industrial maintenance, or related field or work experience in place of education.
3+ years’ experience in a manufacturing environment conducting machine service, rebuild, and repairs.
Skills and Competencies:
Ability to express ideas, share information such as timelines on repairs to maintain production schedules and listen actively to shop personnel explaining equipment failures.
Strong written and verbal communications.
Excellent attention to detail and problem-solving skills.
Able to make effective and timely decisions.
Ensure all internal and external customers receive positive service experiences.
Ability to work independently and as part of a team.
Able to work efficiently with minimal supervision.
Demonstrated understanding of electrical and mechanical functions in relation to manufacturing equipment.
Proficient in various computer software applications such as Microsoft Word, Excel, and Outlook.
