 Job Summary:

The position is responsible for performing equipment installations, equipment (and property) mechanical and electrical repairs, and which include appropriate and accurate troubleshooting and research of all equipment in the Pressroom, Bindery and Mailing departments as well as all support departments and their respective equipment. Techs are also called on to address various office area equipment, or property repairs. 

  

Shift: 

Day Shift, 6:00 am - 6:00 pm; Night Shift, 6:00 pm - 6:00 am

Thursday, Friday, Saturday, every other Sunday OR Monday, Tuesday, Wednesday, every other Sunday 

OR

Monday - Friday, 6:00 am - 3:00 pm 

  

 Essential Job Functions:

  • Answer and or research any questions related to the mechanics of any piece of equipment in the manufacturing areas including Bindery, Pressroom, Shipping, Mailing etc.
  • Give daily attention especially to the Pressroom and Bindery equipment as directed by Pressroom and Bindery Manager or Supervision/Leadership.
  • When not on specific equipment breakdown or trouble call, carryout various preventive maintenance work and duties on Press or Bindery equipment.
  • Assist manufacturing leadership in the maintenance basics training of bindery and pressroom personnel so that those lead operators can assist or outright perform most of their own PM duties on the equipment.
  • Schedule, oversee, and perform all steps of new equipment installation, if required.
  • Performs some of the basic duties of bindery or press lead operators in order to troubleshoot the equipment when requested.
  • Calibrate or adjust equipment to ensure quality production, using tools such as calipers, micrometers, height gauges, protractors, or ring gauges.
  • Always work in conjunction with lead operators and Dept. Leadership when ordering parts.
  • Assist leadership in developing, building, or testing prototypes or new products, processes, or procedures or in custom design.
  • Assists others when required in maintaining inventory of job materials, by providing data, insight, or related information pertaining to keeping proper inventory for parts.
  • Works with all fellow co-workers in a respectful, cooperative manner.
  • Build product subassemblies or final assemblies if required.
  • Willing to contribute whether by phone or in person to any mechanical problem that may arise at any given time.
  • Is aware and introduces new developments in the printing industry to increase production and overall machine efficiencies. Monitor and adjust or suggest adjustment of production processes or equipment for quality and productivity.
  • Self-driven, able to work independently or with others.
  • Performs other tasks as requested or required

Requirements

 Advanced qualifications that help with pay

  • Electrical and Mechanical training/experience/certifications
  • PLC Background/Training

Required Qualifications/Competencies:

  • English Language: Knowledge of the language in order to effectively and safely communicate with dept. personnel.
  • Basic trouble-shooting skills
  • Willingness to learn new machines.

The physical demands are typical for a manufacturing setting.
