Maintenance Technician

Northern Manufacturing, a worldwide leader in stainless steel fabrication, is seeking a motivated and hard working individual to join our Maintenance team. The Maintenance Technician performs highly diversified duties to install, troubleshoot, repair, and maintain production and facility equipment according to safety, predictive, and productive maintenance systems to support the company’s goals and objectives.

Responsibilities

• Perform maintenance and installation of production equipment, supporting the Maintenance Supervisor and team.
• Assist with mechanical assembly of customer projects (gear boxes, motors, etc.) and provide guidance to general laborers as needed.
• Diagnose and troubleshoot equipment issues, identifying root causes and implementing solutions to prevent recurrence.
• Respond promptly to equipment breakdowns, repair or replace defective parts, and restore equipment to service using manuals, schematics, and best practices.
• Prioritize emergency repairs to reduce downtime and maximize productivity.
• Carry out ongoing preventive maintenance and inspections on equipment, facilities, and systems.
• Perform facility and grounds maintenance, which may include snow removal, equipment storage, and work at heights.
• Conduct routine fleet vehicle safety checks and assist with fleet maintenance.
• Participate in rotating on-call coverage and respond to after-hours maintenance needs.

The physical demands described here are representative of those that must be met by an employee to successfully perform the essential functions of this job. Ability to lift up to 50 lbs. when required. While performing the duties of the job, the employee is regularly required to stand, walk, climb ladders and reach with hands and arms. Specific vision abilities required by this job include close vision, distance vision, color vision, depth perception, and ability to adjust focus.

• 1+ years of industrial maintenance experience preferred.
• Strong mechanical and troubleshooting skills.
• Excellent internal customer service and communication skills, both verbal and written.
• Self-motivated and solutions-oriented with the ability to work independently.
• Effective team player who collaborates across departments.
• Organized and able to prioritize multiple tasks in a fast-paced environment.
