Maintenance Technician

General Summary

Under general supervision, to perform preventive maintenance and corrective repair of buildings, and grounds within a geographical area. Perform all tasks necessary for maintaining cleanliness of premises in safe and orderly manner and performing routine minor repairs under direction.

Principle Duties and Responsibilities

• Perform routine, repetitive daily inspection to building exterior. Notify management of problems/concerns.


• Perform general grounds keeping on a daily basis. Mow, edge, weed and all general landscaping. 


• Account for and maintain materials, tools and supplies.


• Insure cleanliness and proper operation of equipment throughout all locations. Under specific direction from management, make minor repairs to equipment and inform management of all repairs required or status of repairs.


• Maintain outside dealership area, through painting of light pole bases, curbs and railings, sweeping, , washing windows and general cleanup and maintenance.


• Clean and perform general maintenance to all areas. Keep entrances and exits clear. Trim/depose of tree branches, clear rubbish.


• Ensure disposal areas are kept clean and in a safe condition.


• Respond to any emergencies on an on-call basis.


• Perform job according to company safety standards and procedures.


•  Repair or replace signage (stop signs, handicap signs).


• Report pot holes, pavement problems, cracks, and crumbling curbs to management so repairs can be made.


• Travel

Qualifications

• 3 plus years of satisfactory work experience, preferably in maintenance related field.


• Possess good oral and organizational skills.


• Ability to work flexible hours, and perform duties in an orderly fashion under general supervision.


• Must possess an active Florida driver's license.


• Ability to communicate in English and Spanish preferred.

Physical Requirements

Normal dexterity required in office environment including hand-eye coordination, walking, sitting, standing, alertness (attention to detail)  May require lifting of boxes weighing up to 50 pounds to obtain filed information. Ability to lift up to 50 pounds and operate equipment necessary to perform cleaning/maintenance duties. Ability to climb ladders to heights up to twenty-five feet. Extended periods of standing, walking and sitting while driving to locations. Be able to be outside in the weather for extended periods. Excellent driving record.
