Essential Duties and Responsibilities
· Operate, maintain, and perform minor repairs on life safety devices, including fire pumps, smoke detectors, and sprinkler systems.
· Conduct maintenance and minor repairs on HVAC systems, including compressors, condensers, air distribution, and monitoring controls.
· Maintain and repair plumbing systems, including restroom fixtures, sump pumps, sewer systems, and water filtration units.
· Perform minor electrical repairs, including replacing lighting fixtures, lamps, and ballasts.
· Maintain and repair mechanical systems, including boilers, pumps, valves, compressors, and related components.
· Handle general handyman tasks, such as furniture repairs, door hardware replacements, and touch-up painting.
· Perform general cleaning and maintenance of mechanical spaces and exterior areas, including roof drains, air vents, and workspaces.
· Replace air filters and clean light fixtures to maintain efficient building operations.
· Assist with debris removal, material organization, and general site cleanup as needed.
· Support event setup and equipment moving as required.
· Follow safety protocols, including Lockout/Tagout procedures, while performing maintenance tasks.
· Monitor and report on safety hazards, major maintenance concerns, and supply inventory.
· Perform additional maintenance-related duties as assigned.
Minimum Qualifications
· Proven experience in facilities maintenance or related technical role.
· Basic knowledge of HVAC, electrical, plumbing, and mechanical systems, including building automation.
· Skilled in using hand tools, specialized tools, and test equipment for repairs and maintenance.
· Proficiency in computer-based systems, including email and productivity software.
· Strong verbal and written communication skills.
· Ability to work independently, take initiative, and resolve maintenance issues effectively.
· Willingness to perform general labor and cleaning tasks as needed.
Preferred Qualifications
· Certifications in HVAC, electrical, or plumbing are a plus.
· Experience with preventative maintenance programs.
· Familiarity with work order and inventory management systems.
· Prior experience working in commercial, industrial, or institutional facilities.
