Job Summary:
The Maintenance Technician is responsible for maintaining the hotel's facilities, guest rooms, equipment, and grounds in a safe, clean, and fully operational condition. This role performs preventative maintenance, responds to guest and staff maintenance requests, and completes repairs to ensure an excellent guest experience.
Essential Duties and Responsibilities:
Perform preventative maintenance (PMs) on guest rooms, HVAC/PTAC units, plumbing, electrical, and mechanical systems.
Respond promptly to maintenance work orders and guest service requests.
Repair plumbing fixtures, toilets, sinks, faucets, drains, and water leaks.
Troubleshoot and repair electrical issues, including outlets, switches, lighting, breakers, and fixtures.
Maintain and repair HVAC/PTAC systems, thermostats, and related equipment.
Repair doors, locks, windows, sliding doors, and guest room hardware.
Perform drywall repairs, painting, caulking, and finish work.
Maintain boilers, water heaters, pumps, irrigation systems, and other building equipment.
Conduct daily inspections of the property to identify safety hazards or maintenance needs.
Assist with pool equipment maintenance and ensure compliance with safety regulations.
Maintain parking lots, sidewalks, landscaping features, and exterior lighting.
Operate pressure washers, hand tools, power tools, and maintenance equipment safely.
Coordinate with outside vendors and contractors when necessary.
Maintain accurate maintenance logs, preventative maintenance records, and inventory.
Follow OSHA, fire safety, IHG/company standards, and local building codes.
Assist during emergencies, including power outages, flooding, or severe weather events.
Support other departments as needed while maintaining a positive, team-oriented attitude.
Qualifications:
High school diploma or equivalent.
Experience in hotel maintenance, facilities maintenance, or a related field preferred.
Working knowledge of HVAC, plumbing, electrical, carpentry, drywall, and painting.
Ability to safely use hand and power tools.
Ability to lift up to 50 pounds and work on ladders, rooftops, and in confined spaces.
Strong troubleshooting and problem-solving skills.
Excellent communication and customer service skills.
Flexible schedule, including weekends, holidays, and emergency call-ins as needed.
