Maintenance Technician

Schedule: Monday - Friday : 8am - 5pm (with some overtime and weekends).

The Maintenance Tech is responsible for performing general maintenance and upkeep at Cooper Clinic. Maintains and repairs physical structure of buildings, equipment, and grounds.

Essential Duties and Responsibilities:

• Reviews and completes job orders and maintenance requests to determine work priorities.
• Schedules repair, maintenance and installation of machines, tools and equipment to ensure continuous operations.
• Performs routine maintenance around the buildings such as fixing structural issues, or damage, for example, minor window, door, or wall repair.
• Conducts minor maintenance of electrical systems (replace light bulbs and sockets, clean and replace circuit breakers, etc.) Coordinates with vendors as needed for major repair items.
• Performs minor repairs broken or leaking plumbing to avoid water damage and restore full use of water fixtures.
• Cleans AC condenser coils as needed and replaces AC filters quarterly.
• Moves and assembles office furniture, hangs wall frames/pictures.
• Inspects alarm systems (fire, protection) and schedule repairs as needed.
• Performs pest control activities such as spraying of insecticide or varmint mitigation or coordinates with vendors.
• Inspects buildings, equipment, and systems to ensure consistency with health and safety standards - and identifies any issues, including fixing safety hazards or cleaning as needed.
• Responds quickly in the event of an emergency, notifies appropriate personnel, and follows safety protocols.
• Maintains a positive attitude and adheres to the Cooper purpose and core values.
• Follows all Cooper policies and standard operating procedures.
• Completes duties on site with consistent, regular, and reliable attendance.
• Accomplishes other duties as assigned.

Required Skills/Abilities:

• Basic understanding of electrical, hydraulic, and other systems.
• Working knowledge of tools, common appliances, and devices.
• Experienced in operating a variety of equipment, including lawn mowers, small hand tools, leaf blowers and power washers.
• Demonstrated experience as a maintenance technician.
• Ability to read and interpret documents and good verbal communication skills.
• Knowledge of internet software, payroll systems, excel and word programs.
• Excellent manual dexterity and problem-solving skills with great attention to detail.

Education and/or Experience:

• High school diploma or general education degree (GED).
• Degree or certification from a technical school; or one to two years related experience and/or training; or equivalent combination of education and experience.
• Certificate in building maintenance technology or relevant field is a plus.
