Maintenance Technician

MalaceHR is seeking an experienced Maintenance Mechanic to support the day-to-day operation and maintenance of a commercial facility. This position is responsible for performing preventive maintenance, troubleshooting equipment issues, responding to service requests, and completing repairs to help ensure building systems operate safely, reliably, and efficiently.

The ideal candidate will have hands-on experience in a commercial building or facilities environment and a strong working knowledge of general mechanical, electrical, and HVAC-related systems.

Key Responsibilities

• Perform routine, preventive, and corrective maintenance on building systems and equipment.


• Troubleshoot mechanical and electrical issues and complete repairs to restore equipment operation.


• Perform scheduled preventive maintenance activities and accurately document completed work.


• Respond to service requests and urgent maintenance needs in a timely manner.


• Prioritize assigned work orders based on operational and facility needs.


• Inspect building equipment and identify potential issues before they result in equipment failure.


• Coordinate with outside vendors and contractors when specialized service or repairs are required.


• Provide vendor access and escort support when necessary.


• Maintain tools, equipment, parts, and maintenance materials in an organized manner.


• Identify needed parts and supplies to support efficient completion of maintenance work.


• Follow established operating procedures and maintenance standards.


• Maintain a clean and safe work environment.


• Follow all applicable safety procedures, including lockout/tagout (LOTO) requirements.


• Assist with general facility maintenance and repair needs as assigned.

Qualifications

• Approximately 3–4 years of related maintenance experience preferred.


• Previous experience performing maintenance and repairs in a commercial building, corporate facility, industrial facility, or similar environment.

• Ability to follow written procedures and complete maintenance work accurately.


• Ability to work independently with minimal supervision.


• Ability to respond professionally to urgent or unexpected facility issues.


• Familiarity with CMMS, work-order, or maintenance tracking systems preferred.


• Trade school, apprenticeship training, or relevant maintenance certifications are a plus.


• Previous experience supporting a corporate office or commercial property with high service expectations is preferred.


• Ability to work overtime or off-hours when required by operational needs.

Physical Requirements

• Ability to stand and walk for extended periods throughout the workday.


• Ability to climb ladders and perform maintenance work at varying heights.


• Ability to bend, kneel, crouch, reach, and work in mechanical spaces.


• Ability to safely lift and carry materials, tools, and equipment associated with maintenance work.
