GENERAL DESCRIPTION OR SUMMARY

The Maintenance Technician works with and supports production team to keep companywide equipment running. This individual ensures operation of machinery and mechanical equipment by completing preventive maintenance, troubleshooting malfunctions and repairing or installing factory equipment and machinery.  

ESSENTIAL JOB FUNCTIONS  

Maintenance Problem Solving Activities 

  • Providing full information about problems and attempts made to resolve them to the next shift and the supervisor and their appropriate documentation. 
  • Follows repair procedures, operation, maintenance and inspection of machines, devices and machine installation in proper and timely manner and in accordance with company operation manuals, legal regulations and best practices. 
  • Sets up, installs and repairs production, building equipment and specialty machines. 
  • Checks, maintains, repairs, and replaces automation lines, high pressure steam, air/gas lines, electrical/electronic controls, piping and tubing. 
  • Reads technical manuals to understand equipment and controls. 
  • Diagnoses problems, determines extent of repairs and estimates labor time. 
  • Disassembles machinery/equipment, repair or replace broken or malfunctioning components. 
  • Inspects equipment for proper lubrication and perform preventative maintenance duties. 
  • Operates forklift and/or scissor lift to install or repair industrial equipment. 
  • May weld, grind and/or sold to fabricate small parts to machines. 
  • Collaborates with external services technicians. 
  • Performs additional assignments per the Manager’s direction.

Requirements

QUALIFICATIONS, EDUCATIONAL SKILLS and EXPERIENCE 

  • High school diploma required, addition education is a plus. 
  • Minimum of 1 year of industrial maintenance experience. 
  • Strong trouble shooting skills. 
  • Knowledge of reading and interpreting electrical, pneumatic, hydraulic schematics. 
  • Knowledge of diagnosing PLC and VFD. 
  • Proficiency in MS Office (Excel, Outlook) with the ability to quickly learn new systems. 
  • Strong organizational skills with the ability to multi-task.
  • Bachelor's degree in manufacturing engineering or similar. 

PHYSICAL DEMANDS 

  • Requires regular sitting, reaching, walking, talking, standing, stooping, kneeling, crawling and keyboarding. 
  • May occasionally lift and/or move up to 25 pounds. 
  • Includes close, distance and peripheral vision, depth perception and color vision with ability to adjust focus.

 WORK ENVIRONMENT 

  •  Work environment characteristics are representative of those an employee encounters while performing the essential function of this job.
  • Noise level is usually moderate. 

Shift: 2nd Shift 

Days: Monday through Friday 

Hours: 2:00 PM – 10:00 PM 

Shift Premium: +$2.00 per hour in addition to the base hourly wage.
