Maintenance Technician - Fulltime

Job Summary:
Ensure the club is well maintained and clean with equipment in proper working order to meet the safety and satisfaction of our members, guests, employees and legal standards.

Summary of Essential Job Functions:
• Attract and retain members.
• Complete all assigned maintenance projects in a thorough and satisfactory manner.
• Regularly upkeep ground and building property, to include painting, patching of walls, repair of equipment, etc.
• Assist with all pool maintenance, chemicals and cleaning.
• Work with vendors as assigned for maintenance projects.
• Adhere to a purchase order process for all purchases.
• Assist with systems for equipment, tools and supplies inventory and storage.
• Ability to evaluate repairs and projects and complete projects efficiently.
• Ensure the club is clean, well maintained with equipment in proper working order to meet the safety and satisfaction of our members, guests, employees and legal standards.
• Ensure the club meets all applicable safety protocols. Institute mechanisms to routinely inspect the physical building, equipment, pool areas and operating club to ensure proper preventative and routine maintenance mechanisms and systems are in place to protect the membership and employees of the club.
• Prepare and maintain a ready list of vendors and emergency contacts for facility and equipment repair and maintenance and other duties as assigned.
• Continually research new approaches to improve quality, reduce cost, reduce waste, and conserve energy and water.

Knowledge/Skills Required
•2 years of facility maintenance repair experience in an upscale resort or fitness facility.
•Experience with pool/ jacuzzi systems operations and maintenance.
• Strong facility knowledge, including but not limited to: plumbing, electrical, and HVAC systems.
• Ability to evaluate repairs and projects and complete projects efficiently.
• Ability to work in a fast-paced environment with multiple tasks.
• Highly organized and detail oriented.
• Excellent communication skills.

Knowledge/Skills Preferred:
CPO Certified
Familiarity with maintaining fitness equipment
Familiarity with the health club environment

Required Abilities
Physical Activity
This position requires daily standing, walking, lifting, grasping, wiping, bending, stooping, pulling, folding and kneeling.  Substantial repetitive movements (motions) of the wrists, hands, and/or fingers.  Expressing or exchanging ideas by means of the spoken word. Involved in activities where one must convey detailed or important spoken instructions to other workers accurately, loudly, or quickly. Perceiving the nature of sounds at normal speaking levels with or without correction. Requires the ability to receive detailed information through written and oral communication.  

Physical Requirement
Must be able to lift at least 25 pounds and occasionally very heavy lifting up to 75 pounds to lift, carry, push, and/or pull moderate to heavy amounts of weight and to operate assigned equipment.  Must also be able to climb stairs and climb unusual heights on ladders

Visual Requirement
Position requires close visual acuity to perform activities such as: analyzing fitness equipment and environment for proper maintenance, cleanliness, assessing and determining needs, transcribing, and viewing computer monitors.

Working Conditions 
Work is performed in both an indoor and an outdoor environment, exposure to noise, dust, grease, fumes, mechanical and electrical hazards, and potentially extreme warm temperature conditions. May be reasonably exposed to hazardous substances in the workplace.  Responsible for completing Bloodborne Pathogens and Hazardous Material training.
