Position Summary: 

Under the supervision of the Senior Facilities Manager, performs a variety of skilled and semi-skilled troubleshooting, maintenance, modification and repair work in maintenance operation areas.     

  

Brief Overview of Major Duties (please see below for full job description):

  • Performs skilled maintenance activities depending upon area of assignment, including basic trade activities such as electrical, plumbing, and carpentry work.
  • Troubleshoots, maintains, and repairs complex systems and equipment in one or more areas of assignment such as lighting, electrical, mechanical and plumbing systems, and pool and filtration systems.   
  • Coordinates projects related to installation, maintenance and repair work; may provide project lead direction to staff in technical areas of assignment.
  • Inspects contractor’s work, ensuring that work is in compliance with specifications, standards and time lines.
  • Inspects Royal Oak facilities, grounds, infrastructure, and equipment to ensure proper maintenance and safety standards are being met; takes or recommends corrective actions as necessary.
  • Completes daily, weekly, and monthly checklists on building equipment maintenance procedures and maintains records of scheduled maintenance procedures.
  • Responds to emergency maintenance requests as required.
  • Ensures proper care in the use and maintenance of equipment and supplies; promotes continuous improvement of workplace safety and environmental practices.
  • Required to operate/drive a golf cart for the purpose of transporting supplies around campus as needed. This may also include transporting employees, residents and/or guests when needed.
  • Required to be part of a rotation system for on-call duties and may receive a phone call to return to work if an emergency arises.
  • Must provide your own basic hand tools.
  • Perform other duties as assigned.

Position Summary: 

Under the supervision of the Dining Room Manager or Assistant Dining Room Manager, is responsible for providing high quality, friendly service, sets places at dining tables, takes orders, serves food and drinks, and answers inquiries about menus. 

Brief Overview of Major Duties (please see below for full job description):

  • Greets residents and guests in a friendly manner within two minutes of being seated.
  • Answers questions about food and drinks including their ingredients, preparation and accompanying items.
  • Collects food and drink orders, confirms and repeats order for clarification. 
  • Attends to residents’ needs when delivering food and checks to ensure guest satisfaction.
  • Maintains table appearance by pre-bussing, checking drink levels, removing clutter and providing extra napkins if necessary.
  • Gives a warm and pleasant farewell to guests.
  • Keeps station clean, sets up and takes down station appropriately.
  • Polishes glassware and silverware and ensures all service work pre-set and delivered to tables are clean and sanitary. 
  • Keeps the Food Service Management Team promptly and fully informed of all problems or unusual matters of significance.
  • May also perform work as a Busser and/or Food Runner (see full job description below)
  • Perform other duties as assigned.

Has ability to add, subtract, multiply, and divide in all units of measure, using whole numbers, common fractions, and decimals. 

Has skill in the use and care of equipment and tools.

Is able to react successfully to any situation that may present itself with residents, staff, and/or guests.

Is able to read blueprints, specifications and technical material.

Skilled in the use of hand and power tools.

Must be able to complete training on computer and/or other devices.

Education and Experience:

Preferably has a high school diploma or GED equivalent.

Must have five years skilled, professional experience in building and mechanical equipment maintenance and repair.

Preferably experience in low temp walk in freezers, ice machines and commercial kitchen appliance. 

Licenses and Certifications:

Must have a Type II EPA 608 certification. 

Has current and valid Fingerprint clearance card or apply for one within 20 days of hire.

Has current, valid driver’s license. Driving record must meet the criteria set forth by Royal Oaks’ insurance carrier. 

Preferably has obtained a HVAC certification through an accredited school.

Preferably has Journeyman Electrician Certification, Mold First Responder Certification, and/or Plumbing Certification.

Physical Requirements:
