Job Description - Maintenance Technician II - 1st Shift
This position performs skilled journey-level work in the construction, maintenance and repair of electrical and electronic equipment, apparatus and fixtures used within an Aerospace/Industrial manufacturing site Troubleshoots, repairs and maintains electrical distribution systems including electric motors, electric controls, fire alarms, and clock systems Installs, troubleshoots and repairs new equipment and systems, including all manufacturing/assembly equipment (CNC Mills, Lathes, Drills) and programmable lighting controls Ensures site fire alarms and emergency electrical systems are operational; performs certification testing on alarm systems Maintains electrical equipment to meet regulatory codes at the county, state and federal levels Monitors work done by outside contractors for adherence to National Electrical Code (NEC) requirements and reports back to Supervisor Demonstrate safe and proficient use of shop tools (both hand and power) Proficient in testing electrical systems and continuity of circuits in electrical wiring, equipment, and fixtures, using testing devices such as ohmmeters, voltmeters, and oscilloscopes, to ensure compatibility and safety of system Assists in the writing of specifications for repairs and new construction Perform work from ladders, scaffolds, and roofs to install, maintain or repair electrical wiring, equipment and fixtures Perform rigging activities, safety-related functions and other miscellaneous electrical functions Safely utilize a forklift and high lift Assists in the writing of specifications for repairs and new construction Comply with all safety requirements, including proper use of personal protective equipment and operation of equipment in a safe and competent manner. Understand and meet all departmental safety objectives and goals. Keep assigned work-area clean, organized, and orderly per 5S standards. High School Diploma or GED from an accredited institution Basic knowledge of electronic theory as applied to electrical and electronic circuits, wiring and electrical equipment used in power generation Ability to install, troubleshoot and repair new equipment and systems, including all manufacturing/assembly equipment (CNC Mills, Lathes, Drills) and programmable lighting controls Demonstrate safe and proficient use of shop tools (both hand and power) Demonstrate mechanical knowledge Performs other work related duties as assigned (plumbing / general facility repairs) Must be able to work flexible hours Proficient in preventative maintenance database management Proficient in testing electrical systems and continuity of circuits in electrical wiring, equipment, and fixtures, using testing devices such as ohmmeters, voltmeters, and oscilloscopes, to ensure compatibility and safety of system IND123 LI-SB2 PHYSICAL DEMANDS: While performing the duties of this job, the employee is regularly required to stand, walk, stoop, squat, reach to or below shoulder level, lift, carry, push, pull, and use hands to handle and feel. The employee is frequently required to climb and reach above shoulder level. The employee is also required to exert 50 to 100 lbs. of force occasionally and / or 25 to 50 pounds of force frequently and /or 10 to 20 pounds of force constantly.
