Maintenance Technician III

Position Summary

A leading, well-established manufacturing company in the Oxford, NC area is seeking a skilled Maintenance Technician III to support plant operations. This is a senior-level, multi-craft role responsible for maintaining, troubleshooting, and repairing industrial equipment to ensure maximum uptime and efficiency.

This position is ideal for a technician who thrives in a fast-paced production environment and has strong mechanical, electrical, and controls experience.

Key Responsibilities

• Perform advanced troubleshooting and repair of mechanical and electrical systems on production equipment
• Maintain and repair components such as motors, conveyors, pumps, valves, bearings, gearboxes, and air systems
• Troubleshoot and repair electrical systems, including 3-phase power, motor controls, VFDs, and PLCs
• Perform and document preventive maintenance using CMMS
• Respond to equipment breakdowns and emergency repairs quickly to minimize downtime
• Identify root causes of recurring issues and implement long-term corrective actions
• Read and interpret blueprints, schematics, and technical manuals
• Perform light fabrication, machining, and welding as needed
• Ensure compliance with all safety procedures (LOTO, PPE, confined space, etc.)
• Partner with production teams to improve equipment reliability
• Participate in continuous improvement initiatives (Lean/Kaizen)
• Mentor junior technicians as needed

Qualifications

• Associate's degree or technical certification in a related field (or equivalent experience)
• 5+ years of industrial maintenance experience in a manufacturing environment
• Strong experience with:
• • Mechanical systems (bearings, hydraulics, pneumatics, gearboxes)
  • Electrical systems (3-phase, motors, controls)
  • PLC troubleshooting (Allen-Bradley or similar preferred)
  • Variable Frequency Drives (VFDs)
• Experience using CMMS systems
• Strong troubleshooting and problem-solving skills
• Ability to work independently and prioritize multiple tasks
• Willingness to work overtime and/or be on-call as needed

Physical Requirements

• Ability to lift up to 50 lbs
• Frequent standing, bending, climbing, and working at heights
• Ability to work in a manufacturing environment
