Job Summary:
The City of Greeley is seeking a Maintenance Technician or Water Systems Technician l – IV to join the Wastewater Collections team in the Water and Sewer Department. The Technician will report to the Crew Supervisor I - Wastewater Collections and will assist in the routine maintenance of sanitary sewer lines and other related equipment and facilities. The Maintenance Technician will inspect and perform necessary repairs and perform preventive maintenance necessary to maintain sanitary sewer lines. The position requires field work involving working in confined spaces, excavation trenches, and near the operation of heavy equipment. Specific tasks may involve operating various equipment, keeping logs on corrections, ordering, and installing replacement parts, etc. Stand-by duty for emergency call-in is rotated among division employees.

Knowledge of water system construction, maintenance, repair, and preventive maintenance practices.
Knowledge of confined space entry, trench safety, traffic control, workplace safety practices, and other applicable utility safety procedures.
Knowledge of maintenance tools, equipment, and materials used in utility operations.
Skills in operating hand tools, power tools, maintenance equipment, and vehicles safely and effectively.
Skills in reading and interpreting maps, utility plans, electrical schematics, and technical drawings.
Skills in recordkeeping, work order documentation, time management, and effective communication.
Skills in utilizing Microsoft Office applications, CityWorks or similar work management software, and other technology used to support utility operations.
Ability to respond to emergencies, participate in on-call rotations, and adapt to changing operational priorities.
Ability to work independently and collaboratively while maintaining effective working relationships with coworkers and the public.
Ability to communicate effectively, maintain accurate records, and provide quality customer service.
Ability to learn new technologies, software, equipment, and work processes as required.
Travel - Regular Local/Field Based Travel: This position requires regular travel within the County and nearby cities. Employees frequently travel to field sites, client locations, or other City buildings as part of their job duties. Access to a personal or City fleet vehicle may be required.
