Maintenance/Landscaping

Description

Responsible for the repair, replacement, upkeep (including landscaping) planning, organizing, managing and direct various technical trades associated with the maintenance of facilities, grounds, and equipment. Works closely with the Chief Operations Officer and Chief Executive Officer.

Requirements

• Schedule and perform a variety of building maintenance in a high-quality manner to include painting, drywall, carpet cleaning, electrical, HVAC, minor auto repair and plumbing. 
• Coordinate outside vendors and contractors as needed to perform maintenance-related work which cannot be done by Maintenance Supervisor. All outside vendors are required to provide a certificate of insurance prior to doing any work. Ability to negotiate contracts with vendors including landscape and capital projects. 
• Develop budgets  and prepare estimate of materials and labor costs as it relates to outside contracted maintenance work.
• Regular inspections of building and equipment for quality and adherence to safety standards are conducted and are at the standards set by the organization.
• Meet monthly with branch personnel to discuss maintenance issues. Maintains a log of repair and maintenance work which needs to be completed.
• Maintains close, daily contact with Chief Operations Officer to receive/provide information, discuss issues, and explain guidelines/instruction.
• Establishes a cleaning schedule to ensure the entire facility is adequately cleaned.
• Monitors maintenance supplies and orders supplies as needed upon approval from the Branch Manager. Follows procedures      for purchasing supplies.
• Ensures that all floors are swept and mopped or vacuumed and all garbage cans emptied at least once per day.
• Cleans toilets, toilet stalls, and sinks daily. Paper towels, toilet paper dispensers and soap dispensers are replenished daily.
• Straightens and dusts all shelves and tables and keeps supply closets in order.
• Washes windows, walls, and cleans mirrors as needed.
• Keeps the entrance to the club clean at all times.
• Keeps the grounds free of litter.
• Promotes safety of members and appearance of the branch at all times.
• Participates in weekly branch staff meetings.
• Trim bushes, mowing, watering, and edging lawn, weeding, pruning and raking.
• Replace light bulbs throughout the vicinity.
• Must be able to lift 50 pounds or more.
• Outdoor landscaping duties a must, experience preferred
   

Qualifications:

• High school diploma or equivalent.
• Valid Driver’s License is required
• Basic trade experience in the areas of, but not limited to, painting, drywall, carpentry, electrical, HVAC, auto repair, and plumbing.
• Knowledge in the area of safety rules and regulations applicable to buildings, grounds and equipment maintenance.
• Must have a clean driving record.
• Ability to lift heavy items and equipment.
• Ability to communicate effectively, both oral and written.
