Summary
The Make Ready Technician – Back of House maintains back of house to include offices, hallways, service areas, stairways, etc.

Essential Functions
To perform the Make Ready Technician – Back of House position successfully, an individual must be able to perform each essential duty and responsibility satisfactorily.

Essential Duties and Responsibilities
• Responsible for completion of all maintenance service requests assigned

• Ensure all safety guidelines are adhered to including those of the hotel, city, state and federal guidelines

• Perform repair work on walls, doors, floors and wood work

• Other duties as assigned

Qualifications
The requirements listed below are representative of the knowledge, skills and abilities required for an individual to successfully perform the duties and responsibilities of the Make Ready Technician BOH position:
• Good working knowledge of hand tools and power tools

• Ability to paint with ally types and brands of paint

• Ability to do light carpentry work

• Ability to repair and/or install wallpaper and flooring

• Ability to adequately caulk and grout

• Ability to do light cleaning of wood and walls

Language Ability
• Effectively communicate and interact in English with people from diverse backgrounds

• Read and interpret documents such as safety rules, operating and maintenance instructions and procedure manuals

• Write routine reports and correspondence

• Speak effectively before groups of customers and/or hotel associates

Math Ability
• Work with mathematical concepts such as probability and statistical inference

• Apply concepts such as fractions, percentages, ratios and proportions to practical situations

Reasoning Ability
• Solve practical problems and deal with a variety of concrete variables in situations where only limited standardization exists

• Interpret a variety of instructions furnished in written, oral, diagram or schedule form

Work Environment
• Occasionally exposure to vibration

• The noise level in the work environment is usually moderate

Physical Demands
• Frequently lift and/or move up to 50 pounds

• Occasionally lift and/or move up to 100 pounds

• Regularly stand, walk and talk and hear

• Frequently use hands to fingers, handle or feel, reach with hands and arms, climb or balance, stoop, kneel, crouch or crawl

• Occasionally sit

Position Status and Availability
• Available to work a full-time, flexible (AM or PM) shift, Monday - Sunday

Education and Experience
• A high school diploma or general education degree (GED)

• One (1) one year related experience and/or training preferably in an upscale hotel
