Job Description - Mammography Technologist

Snoqualmie Valley Health is seeking a skilled Mammography Technologist to join our team. In this role, you will perform diagnostic mammography procedures using ionizing radiation, ensuring the highest quality images for accurate diagnosis. You will work closely with physicians while maintaining a focus on patient safety and comfort. 



Primary Duties & Responsibilities:


· Radiologic Procedures: Operate radiology equipment to apply ionizing radiation during mammography procedures, adjusting settings (kilovolts, milliamperes, exposure time) to produce optimal image quality.


· Image Quality: Consistently produce high-quality mammography images, interpreting technical quality to ensure compliance with ACR (American College of Radiology) and MQSA (Mammography Quality Standards Act) standards.


· ACR Accreditation: Assist in maintaining and ensuring compliance with ACR accreditation guidelines and participate in audits as needed.


· MQSA Compliance: Ensure all procedures meet MQSA requirements, including documentation, quality assurance, and appropriate follow-up protocols for all mammography exams.


· Patient Analysis: Assess each patient’s general body size, physical condition, and age to accurately perform radiologic examinations.


· Accountability & Dependability: Demonstrate strong reliability, punctuality, and the ability to follow through on responsibilities in a timely and effective manner. Adhere to organizational policies and values.


· Other Duties: Perform additional duties as assigned to support the organization’s goals and patient care standards.



Licensure, Certification, Education & Experience:


Required:


· High school diploma or equivalent


· Graduate of an accredited Radiologic Technology program


· ARRT (American Registry of Radiologic Technologists) certification, with advanced certification in Mammography


· Current WA State Radiologic Technologist licensure


· Training in the operation of mammography equipment


· Current BLS (Basic Life Support) Healthcare Provider certification by date of hire


· Experience with ACR accreditation and compliance with MQSA standards in a mammography setting


Preferred:


· 2+ years of experience in a radiology or mammography setting


· Prior experience ensuring compliance with ACR and MQSA requirements

Eligibility Requirements - Employees regularly scheduled at least 20 hours per week.


Employee Dependents - Your legal spouse or domestic partner, Dependent children until age 26.


Waiting Period - 1st of the month following your date of hire.
