Mammography Technologist

This technologist is able to evolve with radiology information system (RIS) and PACS systems. This technologist must participate in performance improvement activities in the department. Maintains appropriate quality control records and participates in routine equipment testing and maintenance. Additionally, this Mammography Technologist must be willing to train and interact with students and new hires when necessary.

Our licensed Mammography Technologist performs screening and diagnostic breast imaging and procedures. This technologist must be able to produce ACR quality images in both diagnostic and screening exams. This technologist is able to interact with clinicians and other departments to coordinate patient care.

Skills and Certifications [note: bold skills and certification are required]

Minimum of 3 or more years of Mammography experience

ARRT Mammography Certification

CRT Radiology License

Graduate of a formal radiology technology-training program in an AMA approved school.

BLS Basic Life Support (CPR) Certification

Requires proof of mammography - specific training of at least 40 documented hours, if certification

Requires proof of having performed at least 200 mammography exams in the last 24 months (rolling 24)

Requires certificates of at least 15 CEU's in Mammography in the last 36-month period (rolling 36)

Requires proof of MQSA approved 8 hours each of Digital and 3D Tomosynthesis training.
