The Accounting Operations Manager is responsible for directing the day-to-day operations of the Accounting Department. Reporting to the Corporate Controller, this hands-on leader supervises Accounts Payable, Accounts Receivable, Payroll, and future accounting staff, ensuring timely, accurate transaction processing and an efficient monthly close.
Essential Duties and Responsibilities
Direct daily AP, AR, Payroll, General Ledger processing, treasury administration, and fixed asset accounting.
Supervise, coach, schedule, and develop accounting staff.
Coordinate the monthly and year-end close process and ensure deadlines are achieved.
Review account reconciliations and resolve operational accounting issues.
Oversee vendor payments, billing, collections, cash application, and payroll administration.
Prepare audit schedules, tax workpapers, and financial support for external advisors.
Maintain accounting procedures, documentation, and departmental workflows.
Monitor operational KPIs and recommend process improvements.
Provide backup support for all accounting functions.
What Makes You A Great Fit
Bachelor's degree in Accounting or Finance required
Five or more years of progressive accounting experience including supervision
Experience managing AP, AR, Payroll, and General Ledger functions
Construction, manufacturing, or project accounting experience preferred
Knowledge, Skills and Abilities
Excellent organizational and time management skills
Strong leadership and mentoring abilities
Advanced Excel and accounting software proficiency
Attention to detail and commitment to accuracy
Ability to manage multiple priorities in a fast-paced environment
